    MSD ignition power shortage?

Well I'm just using the stock ground strap from the block to the chassis. I also talked to an MSD tech. He told me to make sure I didn't having any power wires or spark plug wires running near the ones between the ignition and the distributor....And funny enough, my coil wire is RIGHT there...

    MSD ignition power shortage?

Has anyone ever ran short on power for their MSD ignition (6AL) to the point where their car sputters on the track at high rpms? First of all. I've upgraded to a 3G alt. on my 351W, 90 GT. (carbed). I've checked the output of the alt. and it is fine until I turn everything on...

    351W timing question

Just wondering what guys have their 351W initial timing set at (ballpark). Mine's a pretty hot street engine at about 10.5:1 comp. It runs well at 25 degrees, which seems awefully high. I'm wondering if I have my timing marks messed up.

I've heard that from a few people. 5000-6000 really doggy right now. Guys I smoke off the line and up to mid track really start to reel me in at the end.:(

    Driveshaft removal help/ideas?

I know a guy that used a good (Snap-On) 12pt box end wrench positioned so when he lowered the car he could crack the bolts by pushing it. Sounds retarded but he said it works.

Got new hood pic's! 89 Notch

Actually, you may not need a new hood for the 351.(assuming Windsor). If your going carbed, that is. I use a low profile air cleaner from FMS and have no clearance issues with my stock hood. Although if I ditch my Torker II intake for a Vic Jr. and add a nitrous plate, I will probably need...

    Weld Racing wheels

I thought (hoped) that might be the case, so I took the rim to another tire shop. We put it on the balancer and could see it was screwed up just by spinning it by hand.

    Weld Racing wheels

I'm just using a set of 225/60/15's on the front, 27x10.5x15 M/T street ET's on the rear. The fronts were never mounted. They would be impossible to balance. We put the bare wheel on the balancer. Just by spinning it by hand we could see the wheel wobbling. If he put the tire on, it would...

    8.8 going into 4cyl 89lx, quad shocks??

If you don't use the quads you'll end up with nasty wheel hop. You could go with aftermarket urethane upper and lower trailing arms and skip the quads altogether.

    Weld Racing wheels

Has anybody ever had in problems with Weld wheels???? I bought a set of draglites for the front of my car from a local speed shop. They were an odd size and had to be brought in from a distributor in Mich. It took 2 weeks. When I got them one's lateral runout was so bad it couldn't be...

    Tires/Wheels

Hi all. I'm looking for new wheels and slicks for my car. Gonna go with M/T ET streets. (no luck with radials) and a set of Weld draglites. I'm wondering what guys are running for sizes on their fox platforms. How big can I go with the tires without cutting fenders and/or ground affects...

    Carb size

My brother's 750vac worked so much better than my 650dp. so I guess I'm gonna pick up a HP750dp. As for the Vic jr. talk.... My cam (Comp Cams 280H) is rated from 2000 to 6000rpm. The trorker II is rated from 2500 to 6500 The Vic jr. 3500 to 7500. On paper, the torker seems a better...

    Carb size

Sorry for late response. I lost track of the thread. I ran at the track last Fri night with my brother's 750 Vac and increased my best et by over 4/10th of a sec. My mph went up by over 2. Ended up a best 12.787@108mph with a 1.8, 60 foot. The 60 foot was my best too. So I guess I answered...

    Slicks

I run Comp Engineering adjustable rears set on 50/50. Stock springs but I am running Hotchkis lower and adjustable upper trailing arms. I've run anything from 12-20 psi in on my drag radials. My best 60 foot was at 14. Just a note...Being from Calgary,Can., at 3400 feet, my car runs a bit...

    Slicks

Yes I do...As well as have adj. drag struts in the front and have removed the front sway bar. I managed a 12.787@108mph on Friday night and a best 1.8 60 foot, but still spinning pretty good.

    Slicks

Anyone know how big I can go with slicks on my 90' GT without cutting the fender? I am currently running 26x9.5 M/T street radials and can't hook for S#@t. I want to go with the street ET's.

    Slick size question

I doubt it. You should be +/- an inch for rim size to tires. I have the same size rims...I'll need to change them too. Most tire web sites have a suggested rim size to go with.

    Slick size question

I'm currently running 26x9 MT Street ET radials(15 inch wheels) on my 90' GT and cannot hook. I am about ready to give up on them. I've done the upper and lower trailing arms as well, have gone with drag shocks and struts. I've tried several tire pressure settings (10-20psi), and launch rpms...
