    if the op has a high torque mini starter this is correct. i was having the exact same issue and i replaced the solenoid that's located on the starter and all is well.

    you may need to shim it. where did you purchase the starter and for how much? i'm having issues too as mine stays engaged after the engine cranks. it only does this on cold starts tho.
