looking for a write up or site on how to correctly check for pushrod length with adjustable rod. do i have to use a mechanical solid lifter for this procedure and when checking piston to valve clearance? i guess i could buy just a cheap one from local auto parts.

I bought mine from CompCams. Very useful and much needed tool to get the geo. correct. It's adjustable in .050 increments. With check'g springs, I did not need to use a solid lifter. The springs are soft enough as to not compress the hydraulic lifter.

i already have the length checker, just looking on how to use it correctly. i do have check springs that came with my cam degree and dial kit. so if i use the soft springs i can use my hydraulic roller lifters and not have to purchase a solid lifter?
