voltage dropped to 11.5V while driving

I just picked up a 68 GT Coupe with digital gauges. It was driving well for a couple of days. Digital voltmeter read 14.0 steady. Now it reads 11.5.. Is it the battery, voltage regulator, or alternator, and how can I tell? They all look newer to me...

    Ordered LeMans Stripes - Help!

$300.- option for decal stripes over the hood and roof that are not factory installed! This is on a 2006 GT I ordered yesterday. They deliver it in a box with the car and you have to have the dealership put them on! Yikes! Do they have experience? Will it start coming off in a couple of years...

You need to scrape with a screwdriver, putty knife/ etc. till most of the hard stuff is off. Then the orange spray stuff from pep boys works like magic cleaning it up.

Tire advice - brand and size (Tire size: 265/50 15's on 15" 10 holes?)

I heard I should put 265/50/15 on the rear and 245/50/15's on the front mounted on stock 10 holes. Sounds good...will it hit? It rides stock height right now with a stock suspension set up. What do you say to that advice? I need tires soon. What brand do you reccommend for street and...

car runs at 210-212* w/ AC in heat...Too high?

Yup I have the stock shroud. Turning off the A/c helps 1 or 2* at idle and possibly a few degrees lower on the highway with a/c off. Today I was driving at 210 with the a/c on in the city and it started to rain. Even though it was 95* outside and humid as h*** the temp immediately went down...

Idle it gets higher...turn off a/c and drive on highway it goes a little lower. Does it hurt the car to run 212*?

What type of oil to use?

10W-40 will be perfect for this time of year. I might go with 10W-30 in the cold weather. That will improve your pressure year 'round
  16. garystocker

What type of oil to use?

absolutely You will have better pressure with the thicker oil. It can in no way hurt your engine and is really better for an engine with high miles IMO :)

    clutch slipping??

Preloaded would mean there is no slack in the cable...and maybe so tight that it never fully engauges the clutch when you let up completely on the pedal. If you have a firewall adjuster, make it so the pedal goes down an inch or so before it compresses the pressure plate springs as you push...
