    Brake questions

That's what we were thinking but it seems many people have done this swap like I have.

    Brake questions

"If I pump the brakes 4-5 times it gets semi solid pedal but returns to nothing after fully releasing to the top unless it's pumped 4-5 times again then back to nothing." This is from above and this was with the car running (sorry I didn't mention that). We also had the rears adjusted, even to...

    Brake questions

I looked around but haven't seemed to find a answer that fits 100%. I installed new pads, wheel cylinders, hardware kit in the rear and 73MM calipers, pads, SS lines on the front. I can't seem to get a solid pedal. At first we manually bled the brakes with one at the wheel and one at the...

sound dumb, but what if someone built a motor for...

Stock 5 speed 87-93 5.0's (notchbacks and SD stangs would be best) get close to 30MPG highway and run low to mid 14's when healthy. If you lighten it up, keep the 2.73's and free up some HP with pullies, exhaust, and filter with a good dyno tune I don't see why you couldn't dip into the 13's...

    Weiand 8210 pump

Weiand 8210 Water Pump brand new never mounted. More water flow for street bound engines. Weiand Action Plus pumps are ideal for street use. They feature a stamped steel impeller that provides optimum water flow, while consuming less horsepower than stock pumps. The impeller also limits high...

Putting a Stop to Oil Consumption through the PCV Valve

I found this on another post...........Seems to answer most of our questions. Contemporary PCV systems are part of the emissions system of the car -- as such the EPA had more to do with their design than anyone else. Any engine builds crankcase pressure when it runs. Some blow by makes it...

Putting a Stop to Oil Consumption through the PCV Valve

Stock Covers with baffle removed/ground off, Trickflow Street Heat intake, Trickflow 1.7 Roller Rockers, Ported Windsor Jr's with 7/16th studs, and Crower 15511 cam.

Putting a Stop to Oil Consumption through the PCV Valve

That's what it seems but it also seems that this is the fresh air charge line that feeds clean air into the engine which allows/pushes the dirty air into the PCV system to be reburned. But vristang mentions that this line might need to flow both ways......if that is the case then where does the...

Putting a Stop to Oil Consumption through the PCV Valve

That's what I was wondering......if that line is supposed to flow into the VC then how does oil flow out to the TB? I'll see what I can do about the baffle in the VC but I think I will try the check valve in the TB/VC line for a bit anyways.

Putting a Stop to Oil Consumption through the PCV Valve

TB to VC is really wet and the check valve flows from the TB to the VC stopping flow from the VC to the TB/Intake. I haven't looked at the PCV line much yet but headed there. Something I never really looked at was to see if the Trickflow intake had a baffle below the PCV. The intake was used by...

Putting a Stop to Oil Consumption through the PCV Valve

On a 87GT N/A set up with 90K on the engine........would or should installing a one way check valve on the TB/VC line prevent oil from entering the intake through that route? Also what about using the larger Lightning PCV with a larger diameter hose to the intake to increase the flow of volume...

    Need opinion on brakes

I have read a few of those types of write ups. MM doesn't recommend the 73MM with drums though and I figured it was due to tire lock up easier. If I do go with the 73's is there a big advantage with the steel of the phenolics? I've heard the steels are better for road racing but the phenolic are...

    Power Loss with Injector swap??

30's seem a little high for your setup. I would have gone with a 75-77mm meter and 24's. 30's would be good for a S/C car making 350-400 hp. http://www.motorsportsdigest.com/perform2.htm

    mgw or pro 5 0

I like my Pro 5.0 and would buy again but I heard there was one that just came out that was a little more durable than the Pro 5.0 (might be the MGW).

My first run does it sound right?

I would lose the 160 t-stat for a 180 or 190 unless you have cooling issues and put some good mufflers on it. Seems like you should be turning a little bit lower times than you are.....what's your track elevation? If the motor is healthy and your at good elevation you could pull low 13's but if...

    Need opinion on brakes

Well my car is getting pretty fast now and I need to start upgrading the brakes. Looking for ideas on better parts. I was looking at the Maximum Motorsports BP-1 kit but don't know if I want to drop $250 right now. Basically looking for slight improvement over stock as everything is totally...

    Gears VS ET

Thanks for the replies............... Stock I was running 3rd through the trap around 5200 with the 2.73's with ET's in the mid 14's. I have modded little by little and worked down to high 13's before H/C/I swap and with gears and the H/C/I I want 12's. I was going with 3.27's but got a killer...
