Brake questions

I looked around but haven't seemed to find a answer that fits 100%.


I installed new pads, wheel cylinders, hardware kit in the rear and 73MM calipers, pads, SS lines on the front. I can't seem to get a solid pedal. At first we manually bled the brakes with one at the wheel and one at the pedal. At first the rear was flowing good after the air was out and then after the 3rd time it went to a trickle. The fronts were fine during the bleeding process so we went back to the rears. If we did one side on the rear then went to the other side it seemed to get a decent squirt of fluid but if you went to do one side 2-3 times it will only trickle out barely. If I pump the brakes 4-5 times it gets semi solid pedal but returns to nothing after fully releasing to the top unless it's pumped 4-5 times again then back to nothing. We vacuum bled the brakes today with no luck either. I was thinking about putting the stock calipers on to see if there is another issue or if the brake booster/master cylinder can't cut it with the larger calipers. The other thought was to put in a adjustable valve as all I have done is what;s mentioned at the top. Does anybody have any suggestions and did I leave any critical info out for a answer to my problem?

have y0u felt the brakes with the car running? might be a leaking master cylinder. pump the brakes up and than h0ld pressure 0n the pedal, n0w start the car, the pedal sh0uld dr0p an inch 0r s0....that will tell y0u if s0mething is wr0ng with the brake b00ster 0r the master cylinder. als0, are the rears adjusted pr0perly? pull the drum 0ff ab0ut half way and than adjust the rears 0ut s0 there is just a little play in the drum....n0t much, just en0ugh s0 where y0u can get the drum 0ff and 0n and it drags just a hair when y0u spin it. t00 much drag and the sh0es will swell with the heat and end up dragging a l0t....which leads t0 0ther pr0blems....and n0t en0ugh leads t0 p0ur braking. but im n0t real sure ab0ut the bleeding part...maybe try gravity bleeding them. just 0pen them all up and let it sit f0r an h0ur 0r s0. g00d luck

This is from above and this was with the car running (sorry I didn't mention that). We also had the rears adjusted, even to the point you couldn't really move the wheels/drums. I did also read somewhere about the rubber line in the rear swelling and causing problems, could this possibly be part of the problem? It's just weird because everything was fine prior to this install.

Everything was 100% brand new that was installed.

That's what we were thinking but it seems many people have done this swap like I have.
