    2.3 guys stumped!

Yes, I checked the hoses/lines/linkages. Everything is tight, secure, and where it's supposed to be. Where do you hook up a code reader on an '87? Thanks for the advice.

    2.3 guys might be stumped!

Thanks, I really will do that. It appears that I have offended some of you. I apologize. I read your advice on the 2.3 forum, and thought it was really good. I was planning on doing what you recomended, I just wanted "another" opinion. I hope I didn't hurt you too much and I'm sorry.

It appears that I may have affended some of you with my latest post. If I did, I am sorry. I read your advice, and tried to do what you suggested. I just wanted "another" opinion. I hope I upset anyone too much, and from now on when I need advice, I know who to call on. Thanks 2.3 forum guys!:nice:

    2.3 guys might be stumped!

I think I might have stumped the guys on the 2.3l forum, so I thought maybe you guys might have some ideas. I replaced the valve cover gasket on my '87 2.3 last Friday. After getting it all put back together, I checked to make sure all of the hoses, lines, wires, and linkages were hooked up...

    2.3 guys stumped!

I think I've gotten the guys on the 2.3l forum stumped so I'll see if you guys have any ideas. I replaced the valve cover gasket on my '87 2.3 last Friday. After getting it all put back together, I checked to make sure all of the hoses, lines, wires, and linkages were hooked up. It looked like...

    Still Won't Start.... Now What?

Just an update, I went out and checked the valve on the fuel rail. No fuel came out, however, I have checked that before and there's never been any fuel coming out. Maybe that's a problem in itself. I know the timing is right because it ran OK until I put it in reverse. I would think it's...

    Still Won't Start.... Now What?

Ok, here's the scoop, I replaced the valve cover gasket on my '87 2.3 last Friday. After getting it all put back together, I checked to make sure all of the hoses, lines, wires, and linkages were hooked up. It looked like all of them were, so I started it up. It ran a little rough, but I didn't...

    Gotta Love These Old Fords!

Thanks guys! I don't think its the TFI module since I just replaced it a month ago. It might be some vaccum lines because when I was removing the throttle body, I also had to remove the plennem (?) (sorry, I can't spell). I thought I had gotten all of the lines/hoses tightened back up, but...

    Gotta Love These Old Fords!

Can old gas cause a no start situation? It cranks over wonderfully, but it acts like it's not getting fuel. However, it did start at first. How can a clog or kink in the line let it start once and then not again?

    Gotta Love These Old Fords!

Hey all, I changed the valve cover gasket on my ol' 2.3 today. After making sure all of the hoses, linkages, nuts, and bolts were all securely tightened, I continued to try to start my car. I was able to get it to start, but I noticed that it was running a little rough. I let it run for a...

Bronco II frame swap on LX hatchback?

Thanks, I'll go to broncoii.org right now.

Bronco II frame swap on LX hatchback?

While I agree that maybe the Bronco II isn't the best choice, I have located a donor vehicle that I'm pretty sure I can get for less than $200. The 2.9 in this truck is shot, and I'm planning on putting in a 3.0/4.0 out of a early '90s ranger/explorer. While neither of these engines are...

    Question about p/s delete

Just buy a belt for a 2.3 Ranger. The Ranger had optional power steering, so you can take off the pump and just run without. Good luck!:nice:

Bronco II frame swap on LX hatchback?

Hey all, I found a 1987 Bronco II that I want to do a frame swap on my LX hatchback. Has anyone else tried this before? What all would need to be done to the Mustang? I think the overall length of the Bronco looks like it would work. However, I would like to know the approx...
