    just to cover it even though this is a stupid question, the charge cable is the 4g wire connected to the lug on the back of the alt right? also im running ( if memory serves) a 150amp circuit breaker ( in place of the 150amp fuse) so the charge cable comes out of the alt through the circuit...

    The reason i went right to thinking it was the alternator instead of the regulator is because i replaced the regulator on it about three weeks ago. It kept the voltage down for about a day and now the alt wont charge

    ive been having voltage problems for about the past month now. it would stay at the top of the guage unless the car was at idle. a few days ago the voltage started to jump around, sometimes it would be up at the top of the guage and sometimes it would stay down right above the red at the bottome...

    i have to smog my car so i swapped out my plugs today for a fresh set. exact same plug, autolite 25's gapped to .52. when i drove the car after replacing them the exhaust note seemed to have a crisper tone to it...or maybe im just out of it...im not sure which:hide: in any case has anyone ever...

    i yanked the alt an battery out and had them tested. Alt checked out, battery was good but they said it wasnt charging very well so they gave me a new one. so far it seems to be working, although my voltage is still a bit high. anything else i can check other than the voltage reg?

    so right now my car feels like its having charging issues ( battery not holding a charge) but the alt is working overtime ( overcharging) what would be the best way to go about this? take the alt and battery both down and have them tested?
