    Given that the bolt for the fule pump eccentric had loosened off, was any damage done to the pin and or pin hole in the gear, is the cam gear now actually tightened out of place by a couple of degrees?? gtss

    its not uncommon for the moisture in the A/C system to create some mildew and the associated musty smell make sure the evaporator drain is clear so the moisture can drain out, and there are spray chemicals that can be sprayed into the intake cowl to help kill off any mildew hope it helps...

    compression test results. should i be worried??

    There really is not a "normal psi" because there are too many variables, altitude, barometric pressure, the tester itself etc. the official Ford spec is that the lowest be at least 75% of the highest, and you are well within that so as others have said, it runs good, no worries gtss

    OK so my timing is off for this reply :rlaugh: but I agree, perhaps pull the PCV valve with the engine running to see how much smoke is coming from the crankcase, if it appears to be alot, then the rings need some more break in gtss :canada:

    if color makes no difference then why is a radiator painted black, perhaps heat dissapation but having said that, aluminum conducts heat differently, aluminum rads are not painted, and most if not all fan clutches are aluminum gtss

    yes you can, just drill the hole slightly away from where the ring gear runs. however, as soon as the bit goes through remember you will instantly have a very well lubricated drill. gtss

    add one more step, while you have the housing empty, drill and tap a small hole in the bottom and install a small pipe plug, then later you can change the oil, and actually get it all out, makes life easier g
