Timing and vaccuum with twisted wedge heads/cam

timing depends on a lot a variables with the engine and materials assembled with. You'll just have to try to set your timing to where you get the ping/spark knock and then turn it back 2-3 degrees. I have the TFS stage one cam, Edelbrock RPM heads, Edelbrock RPM II intake and my intial is 18*...

    Going to the dyno tomorrow

You will see some really nice HP gains with better headers. Also, I would think about a custom cam if you haven't already got one. A streetable 460 can easily put down 400hp and 500ft lbs. to the wheels. Check out http://www.camshaftinnovations.com/ Jay is the best at performance cam and engine...

    Help. ASAP. Code 41

The MAF is not my problem. If it was then i would be seeing a rich condition on both banks and there wouldn't be a lean code. Somethings a miss and I need to figure out what it is before my blower install.

    Help. ASAP. Code 41

Let me just add, I went with the 24# units because I did not want to run the 19's and chance running lean. Go figure eh! My engine is a 1991 short block with a trickflow stage 1 cam, edelbrock RPM heads, edelbrock RPM II intake, underdrive pullies and MAC 1 5/8" unequal length shorties. Intial...

    Help. ASAP. Code 41

No the 24lb. injectors are not matched with a MAF. I was told that by installing them with a stock 91 MAF it would cause a rich condition across the board and may cause some starting and idling issues. Which was fine with me because I plan on having a calibrated PMASS unit by next week and also...

    Help. ASAP. Code 41

I'll check the EGR solenoid and valve better. I know it's getting good vaccum to the solenoid. I haven't checked at the valve yet for vaccum during self test mode. I've been focussing all of my attention on the injectors and O2 sensors. The O2 sensor check out fine. No shorts, good voltage and...

Problem with my gt40 irons and bbk headers.

make sure your not getting interferance from the mid pipe or cables. Also, run a tap in the header bolt holes to make sure you don't have any debri in the threads causing the bolt to not start threading.

    Help. ASAP. Code 41

I have installed my edelbrock RPM heads. Got it up and running with the timing dialed in the pre load set good. It ran great for a week. I ran codes once it was running good and I got KOEO= 85 CM=33 KOER= 42,33 The 85 code I'm waiting on a new silenoid for the EGR. Code 33 is the CNAP, which...

How long can an engine sit?

I agree with sealing up the motor. The trick is not to let air into the engine. Air carries moisture and that causes rust and corrosion. Also, before you start the motor, get an old distributor shaft and put it in a electric drill. Then spin the drill counter clockwise(reverse) to prime the...

This is a must read for ALL!!

Yes a toyota, no not the cammery, but the Supra clan would be the type to poop on Fords, Dodge, Honda, Mitsu, Chevy, Pontiac, Subaro, BMW and the classic Maserati. It's a shame we all devide into stereotypical classification. This is where I'm different from the rest. I love technology and...

    BBK SSI,AFR 165, koeo #96, Koer #12 + 13, + Sluggish

What is the intial timing set to with the spout out? Go back and readjust the pre-load on the lifters. It's really simple and we can walk you through it. To tight and you can lose power. Don't need that when you have a stock cam and 2.73 gears Gears are the biggest killer here, the stock cam...

    Rear Wheel Bearings in 5.0?

With the car on the stands, you eliminate the load placed on the bearings. You also eliminate the fact that it can be something simple like loose bolts, rubbing parts, brake parts and so on becasue there easy to check for while it's on stands. You did check that stuff right? If all else is good...

Turn them quads around the other way, more clearance= bigger tire when they need to be replaced.

    Quadshock/tire problem not normal question

My dad works for Ford(Focus)plant in Wayne, MI. He has LOTS of friends, one in the SVT department. Ford engineers scrambled to find a solution to wheel hop. Quad shocks were born for just that reason. Upper arms control side to side movement and Lowers handle the up and down, all were engineered...
