i knew when it was going on that it was going on different than the red. i don't know if i didn't prep this piece as well or what was going on. it didn't matter how much powder i threw at it, there were areas it just wouldn't coat properly. so i went ahead with the first coat and just planned...

this wrench turned out like crap!! i had it hanging from the closed end (the same way i did the red one) when i coated it. that end just would NOT coat very well. even after two coats it's extremely light. it's almost like the powder wouldn't stick? a large portion of the wrench is very...

    spindle removal

do you mean to hit it from the top and drive the ball joint down towards the ground? where the king nut (or whatever it's called) is? or do you mean to tap on the bottom of the ball joint to break it loose? not trying to be a pain in the ***, i just want to make sure i hit the correct area...

is that a tool that basically clamps onto the bottom of the spindle with a long bolt that you screw down on top of the ball joint stud and that will force the spindle off of the bolt?

i'm a tad confused on cure times. do i need to keep them in the oven for the initial cook for roughly 15 minutes, than an additional 15 minutes to cure? or should i shut the oven off after the first 15 and just let them cool slowly? i've got one part hanging with color in the gun.....IT'S GO...

    '87 GT build

about 188k on the odo. as far as i know, the motor has never been out of the car. it was running decent, it just wouldn't pass smog any longer. it was leaking oil like crazy but when i pulled it apart, a number of the top end bolts were finger tight.

i honestly don't remember. i had the trans put in there a long time ago. i actually forgot that it was a tremec unit. i'll have to look tomorrow and see which one it is. from what i remember, when i had it put in, it was labeled as a z-rated trans??

    EFI vs carb

as i'm researching different parts and combinations while i'm pulling my car apart, i just assumed i should stick with an EFI setup when i put the stroked 351 back into my car. a good friend of mine hit me up with the idea today not to rule out running a carb instead of using an EFI setup...

you are exactly correct. i'm wanting to put a stroked 351 into my '87 GT. i found a couple of possibilities on LMR. i believe they were trick flow units. i already have an explorer upper. i'll have to look in the morning to see if has the EGR hole. not sure what year it came off of...
