    Help Diagnose my Fuel Problem

Still having the hard start problem.... Notes: - Bought a phenolic washer - Set timing at 17* (engine turns over fine) - The RPM fluctuation was due to a faulty TACH - Cannot find a vac leak anywhere, 9-10" of Vac @ 800 rpm - When car is running, it's virtually perfect, throttle response...

    351C Power Steering Pump

I'm at work so I don't have pics with me, but I know for sure that you are going to have to use a spacer. The A/C bracket acted as a spacer on mine until I removed it. Once I removed it, I went with a round aluminum spacer from Lowes to place the P/S pump back to the original position. Of...

from scratch, shortblock, longblock, or crate

DIY. You get satisfaction from crafting it with your hands. You learn more and in turn can help somebody else. You know *exactly* what the torque was on that #3 thrush bearing before you put the oil pan on. You make mistakes....we all make mistakes....but this time you can talk intelligently...

Losing idle at traffic light with A/C on.

Okay, I'm in the tune phase of my rebuild. I went with the vintage air a/c. With the A/C off I idle around 800. However, with the A/C on, I loose idle tremeduously....to the point of stalling the motor. No problems with driving around. It just dies occasionally at the light. Any ideas? If...

    Aluminum Radiator/Fan CFM Question

I bought a universal radiator at the advice of the Summit Cust Serv. As you can see from the pics, the radiator fits pretty darn good! The problems are 1) My Ford Taurus fan is a little too thick and 2) the lower (driver side) hose sticks up at a 45* angle.... It points at the pwr...

    Starter Wiring help

I actually did this today and mine worked once I figured I needed to bypass the park/neutral safety wiring. (I went from FMX to T45) We actually need to see a picture of your firewall starter solenoid. From what you state, you seem to have everything connected properly, but from the actions...

    Bellhousing Runout

Sucks! Working on installing a T45 and am trying to test the Runout. Any advice? As I go through this process, I realized I had the wrong separator plate. Once I got the plate, I put the bell housing on to test the Runout only to realize I had to draw the bell housing onto the studs with...

    Brake Booster & Transmission Swap

I'm in the middle of swapping my automatic tranny for a Keisler T45R. I got my hands on a 1970 clutch & brake pedal so I refurbished it and installed it. This setup has the clutch and brake pedal on the same rod. My original one had the long brake pedal that mounts where the J-mount for the...

    2v 351C heads or 4v 351C heads 1972 mustang

Hmmmmm..... I don't know about that one man.... From everything that I have researched, the 4 stamp indicates 4V. It seems like you know how to read your VIN correctly. You can go to TheMustangShop to validate it. If you are doing a restore anyway, pull those suckers off! :D

Should I remove my clutch pedal spring?

I'm performing a tranny swap. (Keisler's T45R kit) I chose the hyd throw out bearing. I'm wondering if I should remove the J-stop spring. The reason I ask is because my clutch pedal goes to the floor and stays there. Granted everything is not hooked up yet, but i'm wondering if the hyd...

2V vs. 4V Cleveland Build Question

Thanks. Since I haven't pulled the heads yet, I don't know if they are OC or CC. Is there a way to tell w/o taking off the heads? I have an account over at Net54 so i'll search for cam suggestions over there too. I wish that forum was set up in a more streamlined fashion.

2V vs. 4V Cleveland Build Question

Thanks everybody. It seems like I will be sticking with the 2V heads. Can anybody recommend a Cam? I'm also thinking about head porting(either myself or paying). Is it worth me doing them or should I let somebody else do them. Anybody know how much it costs?

2V vs. 4V Cleveland Build Question

I'm planning on rebuilding the cleveland in 2-3 months. Lookin' to get 300 rwhp out of the thing and still get somewhat decent gas mileage. I'm wondering should I go to 4V heads. I'm also wondering if I should stroke it. I'm thinkin' strokin' is a bad idea due to gas mileage. I'm pretty...
