    Prochamber is on! *video*

I put the camera on the ground behind the car, revved a few times then took off. The audio doesn't capture the sound as well as I'd like, it just sounds different in person, but it's pretty close. I need a real catback now. I'm running stock catback with welded in Flow 40's. Doh. Still...

My car + the track = teh lose

That trap speed seems really low for 290 rwhp. I would expect 105-106. Friend of mine with a Accufab TB/plenum, magnaflow catback, 4.10s and stock tires went 101.65. But tracks vary a lot, just depends. However, given your stock speed of 97, I'd say 6 mph is a pretty good gain.

Everything you ever wanted to know about gears

I'd like someone to explain to me why the trap speed with gears doesn't increase. So gears make you accelerate faster, and get to 100 faster but not increase your speed through the traps? I don't get it. I guess since you're only running for 13.5 secs instead of 14.0, you're spending less...

How do you fix this "ticking" sound??

If it does it all the time, then there is a problem. If it only does it on cold starts for a few min, I wouldn't consider that abnormal. It's just that the oil hasn't gotten circulating yet through everything, rod bearings etc.

How do you fix this "ticking" sound??

Glad to hear that this sounds like a common sound. Mine does it only on cold starts, and only does it at idle for about 2 mins, then it's gone.

    Car hesitates/ pulls un even.

Spray some electrical contact cleaner on your MAF sensor wires, maybe they've gotten gunked up. A bad MAF can cause a bunch of wierd problems, especially bucking and hesitation / uneven pull, etc.

whats it take to run with a BMW M3

I don't see how even a bolt on GT could pull on a new M3. They are rated low 13's and trap ~106. At least that's what all the stats say. ?

    Do I have a T3650 or a T45?

I'm 95% sure I have a T-45 because my door code reads 6 under the TRANS instead of K (which is a 3650). But it was built in 2/01, and has the new style crank pulley (mid '01+). I have a T-45 Tri Ax in it though and it seems fine, other than notchy 2-3 shifts and 2nd grinding sometimes.

Lifespan of the 4.6 2v, daily driven, moderately beaten on?

Man I wish I had a beater for a daily driver. Maybe I should look for one.

Lifespan of the 4.6 2v, daily driven, moderately beaten on?

Heh, I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea how well the 4.6 holds up over time with a trip or two to 5,500 every other day or so. I have 57k on mine right now, regularly maintenanced. Is 100k too much to ask before things start breaking? It's going to be a bolt on only car.

Question about Superchip and a dyno tune.

Don't you need an aftermarket chip when you're being dyno tuned? I'm getting the speedcal and gears before the chip because I don't like to wait. I'd like the chip to just not mess with the timing so I can still play with it with the adjuster. The only real reason I'm getting one is so he...

Question about Superchip and a dyno tune.

I have a T/A already with my timing set where I want, and have my 4.10s and a speedcal on the way. My question is when I go to get tuned by Jerry, will he be able to just leave the timing alone and leave it to where I can adjust it myself with the adjuster? or when I get the superchip will I...

Probably a dumb question about mufflers / catbacks.

They are mandrel bent. He does excellent work. He's done setups for many very high HP race cars and NASCAR sprint cars.

Probably a dumb question about mufflers / catbacks.

Nah, not really looking at a full catback, I can get the same **** made for much cheaper with fine fittings. Was just wondering if shops are able to do that so I wouldn't have to buy new mufflers. I will bring the midpipe to the shop and they're going to make me the 2.5" pipes from midpipe back.

Probably a dumb question about mufflers / catbacks.

Was wondering if I could keep my 2.25" entry/exit Flow 40 mufflers but have them widen the entry/exit to 2.5" for my 2.5" catback. Would that work?

anyone ever barked tyres on a downshift?

Yeah, chirping your tires on a downshift makes it look like you don't know how to drive. I don't think it's cool at all, lol. A dumbass in a Tercel can do the same thing if he wants to, isn't a show of power at all. Rev matching and heel toe show you have some skill and it sounds a lot...

    Steeda Timing Adjuster, detonation?

Recently installed one and have the timing set to 15*. It runs fine, no bucking or "bb's in a can sound" that's characteristic of detonation. But, in the higher RPM's when I'm WOT, it just sounds different. It sounds more "airy" if that makes any sense, like not as "solid". It pulls good...

How many 99+ stangs here have over 50K miles-->>

Heheh, I wonder how loud it sounds to someone standing on the side of the road / in another car. It seems like it'd be pretty loud when it gets to rattling good.

New Plenum test on the way!

Stock plenum/TB makes more power than all of them! :rlaugh: juuuust kidding. :p I really like my Accufab 70mm TB/plenum. I felt a nice gain throughout.

How many 99+ stangs here have over 50K miles-->>

56,000 on mine. Had to replace the hydraulic brake booster (I think that's what it's called, I forget) It started leaking brake fluid and power steering fluid like crazy one day around 35,000 miles. My throwout bearing has been bad for a few months now but it hasn't gotten annoying enough to...
