Update on my motor runing. Timing Question

Did anyone explain to you that you MUST remove the SPOUT jumper before checking the timing???????? It can be found on the wiring connectd to the TFI module on the distributor. It is a box-like gray or black plastic connector about 1-1/4" x 7/8" x 1/2" in size. It is set-up like an inline blade...

    Help! Cold no-start problem on 2.3 N/A

The PIP is connected to the TFI by those 3 blades on top. I'd get a new one and make sure you clean everything good and use the grease on the parts when you install them.

    Help with cruise control

Horn problemcould be relay or clockspring. Up under the center of your dash near the warning chime is the horn relay. When you press the horn button, you shoule hear a faint click. Or you can pull the connector and see if there is power to the LB/W wire all the time (connector off). Also if the...

Pass side window will only go up? not switch or motor. help!

Repostyle, your pink power wire to the pass side is probably broken.

Pass side window will only go up? not switch or motor. help!

Ok... To lower the pass side window from the pass side switch; 1. Pink wire has constant power in run/acc. 2. Yellow/red becomes the ground wire. 3. Red/yellow should have power when switch pushed and window will go down. 4. IF that works, check continuity from the yellow/black wire at the...

Pass side window will only go up? not switch or motor. help!

Normally that would be true, except when Ford is involved. They decided to use separate grounds for these circuits, so the switches don't actually reverse the polarity of the wires. Check out the wiring in the EVTM.

Pass side window will only go up? not switch or motor. help!

You have to understand that you are working with DC electricity here. Motor direction is reversed by reversing the power and ground connections. This is what your window switches do. It's pretty obvious that you have a broken wire, probably in one of the accordion covers going between the doors...

    Guages question

The VR puts out an average of 5 v. It 'pulses' the 12-14v input to acheive the 5 v cheaply. When you ground the other terminal of the gauge, does it go up? An easy way to test gauge function is using 3 AA or C batteries hooked to each terminal. If it moves, it's working. Look somewhere else for...

Where do I find all the numbers on an autolite 4100 carb? Pics?

I've got one on a 70 351C, but I won't be able to get to it until Monday. What #'s are you looking for? The carb. # is under one of the fuel bowl screws on a metal tag. If that's missing, you have little hope of getting a correct # for it.

Gas gauge doesn't work. What could it be?

I just replaced tanks on both my Mustangs. The connectors for the fuel pump and sending unit tend to disintegrate and leave the wires hanging. Probably why yours is grounded. If you look above the tank seam under the rear bumper just to the right of center, you will find the 4 pin connector for...
