    No, not the belt. No squeal and plenty tight. I figured out why it turns so much harder. The OEM rack was a 3.3 turn stop to stop. This one is 2.7 stop to stop. More direct, more resistance. Probably a performance rack.

    1974 Ghia dies on acceleration

    Possible causes: 1: Old Gas, drain tank and clean 2: Plugged fuel filter, replace 3: Crap in carb, clean out bowl and jets. Since it is hard to start and sat I would definitely drain the tank and put in fresh fuel.

    I would check out the other possibilities. Float sticking, plugged line or filter, etc. I assume this is the standard mechanical fuel pump.

    Strong Gas Odor after driving

    Never found a replacement canister but guess I do not need it. The problem seems to have disappeared. Have no idea why but suspect it had something to do with the carb. It was not idling quite right so I opened the idle jet a little to fix that. Since then no gas smell.
