    Messed-up DFR500 wheels

they're anthrocite, and at first I thought the lip was machined and clearcoated, but now I'm starting to believe they're just machined and bare. They would stain very easily in the summer if I didn't dry them after washing, and now this... I'm gonna take a crack at wet-sanding them maybe next...

    Messed-up DFR500 wheels

Well, the wheels weren't super-expensive ($180 CDN each) and I got a strange feeling it will be nearly as expensive to have someone refinish them, so I might as well tackle that on my own. I don't think I can make them look even uglier.

    Messed-up DFR500 wheels

Well, long story short, I had to move for a new job in January, and the car sat outside for 2 months before I could get an underground parking. There must've been some road salt on my wheels while it sat there, and now the machined lip on both rear wheels looks like crap! I tried mother's...

Is it ok to spray wd40 on poly swaybar bushings to stop sqeaking?

I recall hearing that petroleum-based lubes and greases can destroy poly bushings, but I don't know about WD-40. In any case, I can't see it lasting more than a few days at best. I take it yours are not greasable? I usually get heaviest high-pressure synthetic grease I can find at the parts...

    Air bag code 84

I appreciate the help guys :nice: I'll reset the DTC in the morning and see if it comes back. If it does, do you know of an easy way to get to the front-right crash sensor? Can I get to it from under the hood? Or do I need to take-out the inner fender? Thanks again

    Air bag code 84

Hey guys, I tried a search, but didn't find the answer. Anyone know how to clear airbag codes? Without resorting to just taking-out the dash bulb :D I had a hard code 44 showing one time (indicating right front crash sensor bad connection) but then it switched to code 84 after about 1 week...

    tackle my own paint job

Two words: prep work! Prep work is key, making sure the surface is perfect before shooting paint on it will make the difference between an okay paint job and one that looks amazing. Don't be rushed during this stage, take your time and examine every detail. The first time I painted a car, I...

for those of you with lowered stangs...

I agree the problem is likely all the stiff poly bushings. Those bushings don't have alot of give to them, and the rotation of the axle puts a helluvalot of load on them, so they eventually give. If in your shoes, I'd be inclined to move to either 3-piece poly bushings or spherical metal...

car died in the middle of the street

Brain farting here, but it might help. If you get it running again, check to see (carefully) if the alternator power wire is getting unusually hot. I'm thinking perhaps its getting old and crusty and may possibly have alot of resistance accross it. You can also check that with an ohm-meter...

car died in the middle of the street

Charge the battery again, and run the car and check the voltage at the battery itself with a voltmeter, it should read over 14V when the car is running (initially, anyways). If its 12V or less, check the voltage at the alternator charge cable stud (on the back of the alternator). If its also...

What If I painted the Mustang like this?

^^^^ that looks haaawwtt :nice: :nice: :nice: And as for black/red being a bad combo, I disagree. The ONE car that got me to fall in love with the sn95 was a friend of mine with a red '95 GTS that had a black running horse covering most of the sides of the car (sounds corny, but I really wish...

    Wingless Pics inside.

looks good! How did you plug the holes in the trunklid (thats, if you did :p )? off-topic: did you just run dumps off of the mufflers?

Gears thread..Did yu realize a quarter turn makes a difference?

You're right, I just have the wrong exhaust setup (x-pipe + chambered mufflers = :nono: ), I plan to address that issue this year. As for the gears, the choice between 3.27's and 3.55's will ultimately depend on the tranny gear ratios. I'd rather the car pull hard through the gears rather than...

    work sucks

What do you do in the spring/summer/fall? I do the typical 7.5hrs/day, mon-fri. I can start and leave whenever I want, and even do my work from home if need be. Work stays at work, my brain shuts-off when I go home. Life is good.

Gears thread..Did yu realize a quarter turn makes a difference?

The SOP feel is well worth it driving around town. But the 3.73's put my car in the dreaded exhaust drone rpm range on the highway, so I just end-up driving 10mph faster so my head doesn't explode :p I'm going back down to 3.27's when the new torque-monster goes in..... eventually.

    new puppy for gf

Cute! One of my cousins has a dog like that named Gizmo... coincidence? My gf keeps asking for a dog, but I think we'll wait a while. I'm not sure which breed we'll get, but it'll be a fair bit bigger
