t-5 conversion, cause lord knows we need another thread on this

I have swapped t5 on 67 (with late model bellhousing, stock position of the engine). - No need to cut space for shifter, the shifter nicely fits to OE hole. - No need for special t5 crossmember - there is nothing wrong with c4 OE crossmember. Can be easily adapted for t5. - Late model...

    Rear brake line size

A lot of antique cars have 6mm or 1/4" brake lines. Most clutch hydraulic lines are made 6mm or greater to achieve faster response. The 1/4" MC port goes to the distribution block, not to the rear. There must be OE 1/4" tubing available.

    reinforcing front fender

Front fender on my 67 seems not keeping its nice and level shape. IMO it is due to weak inner fender. If someone sits on the fender you will soon see bends especially when painted shiny and dark. Both are OE ford fenders = thick, no rust sheet metal. I was wondering about instaling some...

duraspark II and 14" edelbrock filter

a narrower cap (e.g. duraspark I) would be OK. early duraspark I cap (w/points) does not fit duraspark II two-piece cap. I would have to replace the whole distributor. EP I can place my air cleaner like yours (although I have weiand 2-plane intake). Yet the cleaner does not clear the hood - your...

duraspark II and 14" edelbrock filter

So this does not work - there is not enough space under the hood if this cleaner is above the distributor. The cleaner is just 3/16" too big in diameter to clear the distributer.

cable or hydraulic clutch for T-5

Keep the stock linkage or go with hydraulic. If you don't have $500 for a fancy kit it is easy to set up the clutch hydraulics from OE components. Internet is full of various designs.

    t-5 transmission concern

in determining whether you have nwc or wc, or mix of these two (!) you have to look at the input shaft pilot bearing diameter too (besides the countershaft bearing). Input shafts are interchangeable between nwc and wc - nwc is somewhat weaker and cheaper. Raced and blown t5s are sometimes fixed...

duraspark II and 14" edelbrock filter

I am trying to use this combination on 67 with 302 with stock engine mounts. Yet when looking at it there is very tight fit. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-4207/ The only way IMO is to lift the air cleaner. Have you been able to fit this cleaner so that its bottom is right above the...

    Rough idle

IMO it is not as simple as that. You can adjust idle speed so that .040" max idle slot is revealed. If idle is still rough you likely have some dirt idle/transition passages (assuming correct valve+ignition timing, no vacuum leaks, functioning power valve, etc.) Idle has to work on all...

    Brake Line Flaring

All tools I have seen had the end tip guide's outer diameter 0.5mm smaller than tube's ID. Your is different? Most likely designed for thick wall 3/16 tubing, yet all the steel tubing for custom flaring are thin-wall, two layer because it is much easier to bend. Due to this the end tip...

    Brake Line Flaring

IMO you can hardly make quality flares with the U-like flaring tool, no matter if it is HF or Snapon brand - 95% are the same crappy design, for 10 sizes you will never use. Maybe snapon is made from a better material. I would pick tool that has precisely made clamps and flaring tip that...

    Best way to lift motor

Might be 2ton crane. With the CHEAPEST 1ton in position as shown in the 3rd photo (red 67-68) or lower position front OE bumper would be in the way (if it had one)

    Best way to lift motor

302+t5 combo will fit but it is very tight (i.e. <.5"). Lifting rear may help though. IMO it is much more important to have a crane with a long arm than this leveler. Those cheapest HF 1ton cranes are too short for mustangs

Summit Carb dual fuel line Leak!!!!!!!!!

Do not put force on those flares - you are going to ruin your carb otherwise. I used gas resistant, hard rubber o-rings, placed between flare and seat, finger-tightened sealed OK so far.

    bleeding early 302 cooling system

The elbow pipe on the intake through which hot coolant gets to the heater is the highest point in the system. I have seen 4 or 5 different thermostats, and none of them had a bleeding orifice. These features cause air is hard to get off the system. Is there any clean way to bleed all of it?

    302 heads on a 289

engine with iron seats can also run on unleaded gas if you add to it lead additive when filling the tank. it does not make much sense to take good working engine apart just to replace valve seats.
