    when replacing the timing chain, do you have to remove the oil pan as well, or are you able to slide the timing cover back in? i've been looking at some parts and i really do not want to do the oil pan right now, i hope this is not the case, thanks for any input gentlmen/ladies of StangNet...

    Ok well i am looking for a part number or size of belt that can be used after you take the smog pump out. i can't seem to find the thread that had that info and it's driving me crazy, there was some info that you could use a smaller belt and also remove the a/c compressor and move the power...

    yeah it can be done with engine in the car, you'll have to take the motor mount bolts out rais the motor and put a piece of wood between motor mouts to hold the engine up. then you'll have to remove the pick up i believe before removing the pan, it can be done, someone else will chime in with...

    so with the gt40 heads there's no change in compression ratio then? cool. thanks!! that helps out!! no when you say stock, do you mean just regular mustang head gaskets? sorry to ask, but i'd like to only do it once if you get my drift, don't want to screw anything up. i'm not new to working...

    question about smog..

    ok, thanks guys, that helps. i only have 1 year left of emmision testing then i don't have to do it anymore, but i think i will go with the high flow cats that don't need a pump. i like to breath cleaner air if i can.

    ok, i have BBK equal length shorties, anyone know if the will clear the plugs? what year explorer should i be looking at for the parts? i'm going to take the whole intake and heads off of one once i find the right donor. thanks again. Mike.

    some pics of the stuff.... ok here are the pics of the strut tower and pully, i know little surface rust, but she has been sitting in a garage for close to 5 years. i'll clean her up... anyhow let see if i can attach photos... rust looks 10x worse in pics, holy crap..

    thanks marylandstang, here's a bit of a stupid one, do you mean on the front were the accessories mount or in front under the valver covers, i know it sounds like a stupid question, i'll go out and look on my hunch and see what i can figure out. gotta get some pics of that crank pully. thanks again.
