Help Diagnose - No Boost On New Gauge

Can someone at least confirm I'm tapped into the right spot for the boost/vacuum sensor? 5dc053ff.jpg picture by eschlenz - Photobucket I'm still trying to figure this out. I cracked open the blower and everything is in tact (belt is fine). So unless it is slipping at high RPMs I'm really at...

    belt squeal on startup

My experience: I had a horrible belt squealing issue. It seemed like no matter what I did, I could not get the belt tight enough at the tensioner. At one point I was literally standing on the engine putting all of my weight on a baseball bat, down to the tensioner, while my wife tightened it...

    URGENT! Overheating issue.

Could be a lot of things, honestly. Cooling issues were one of the first problems I had with my car. Things to check: 1) Radiator cap. 2) Thermostat. 3) Water pump. Try pulling the drive belt off and see if you can turn it by hand, making sure it hasn't seized up. 4) Radiator. Make sure there...

    car won't start?

I had this problem with my car about 2 weeks ago. The lights and everything would come on, but as soon as I turned the key, nothing. My battery connections were horribly corroded. I replaced them with new ones and everything works fine now. My point: Your connections may be good enough for...

    Wiring Multiple Gauges (cleanly)

Thanks for all of the feedback guys. I ultimately went with a barrier strip that is tucked neatly into the A-Pillar. I now have a great central location for hooking up to ground, 12v keyed and 12v all the time now. Because the gauges aren't putting much additional load on the system, I'm just...

Help Diagnose - No Boost On New Gauge

I just installed a new AEM digital boost gauge. The damned thing will not show any boost at WOT at all. Even at high RPMs. The vacuum readings look fine: 18-20 InHg at idle and down to 0 at WOT. Here is what I have already checked: 1) Checked the sensor. Vacuum, as I said, looks fine. Using a...

    Wiring Multiple Gauges (cleanly)

I will be rewiring my 3 A-pillar gauges, but want to do it right (clean install). Right now I'm tapped into the same 12V keyed source using those crimp splicers. I was never happy with that solution, and want a more professional one. What I plan to do is splice into that 12V source once, and...

    Quick AEM UEGO WB question.

Ahh, there's where my confusion was. I thought that the AEM version could completely replace one of the O2s; thereby feeding a signal to the ECU *AND* the WB gauge at the same time. Thanks guys

    Quick AEM UEGO WB question.

Maybe you answered my question and I'm too dumb to realize. But can both the stock connector, and wideband connector be hooked up to it at the same time?

    PROBLEMS need help!!

I don't know if the 89's have the same setup as the 95's but when I dropped my tank last summer I accidentally tore a big rubber grommit that sits at the opening of the tank. The filler tube goes through it. Since it's rubber, maybe yours has rotted out and is causing the leak.

Tri-Ax shifter vibration (adv tech help needed)

I've gotta throw this out as a possibility because it happened to me. Over 60 MPH my shifter would rattle like crazy, very bad vibration. So bad it would pop out of gear. But it had nothing to do with my shifter, it was that POS stock driveshaft. It must have been out of balance. A quick swap to...

    Quick AEM UEGO WB question.

I'm confused. I've seen articles about the AEM UEGO O2 having to be welded in place with a bung. But I've also read posts that say it simply replaces one of your existing O2's and provides readings for the WB gauge as well as for your OEM connector (so the ECU doesn't throw codes). So...

    Tweecer + FMU question

Thanks for the response. I figured running just the 24's might be too risky. I'm going to keep the "band-aid" FMU for now and make the injectors/MAF my next purchase. Then the WB, I just wish the WB's weren't so pricey. Any suggestions on the size of injectors I should go with? I always hear...

    Tweecer + FMU question

Last summer I upgraded my fuel pump to a 255LPH. I immediately noticed a drop in performance suggesting a rich condition. Hooking up some narrowband a/f gauges only convinced me further especially at WOT (I know I need to get a WB O2). In my quest to tune this puppy, I've just purchased a...

Running rich - go AFPR or Tweecer?

I installed a 255 FP on my Stang last summer to ensure I wasn't going to run lean with my upgraded and rebuilt Powerdyne blower (9PSI now). It sat all winter and now I'm driving it again. It's running too rich, I can tell from my A/F gauges. I've been tinkering with the idea of getting a...

Dyno Tunes? Tell me more please?

A tweecer sounds appealing. It would cost about the same as the dyno tune. With the exception of dyno tunes, I know quite a bit about the technicalities of getting my car to run properly with the right air/fuel ratios. Also, I program for a living. So the Tweecer definitely sounds like an option...

Dyno Tunes? Tell me more please?

Hi guys. I'm strongly considering getting my car tuned at a dyno tuner. I just don't know a lot about how it works. I know I can use the dyno to tune the car myself, or have the people at the facility tune it. What I don't know is what all the do to tune it? I'm guessing stuff like timing...
