    Modern fuel filler in '68?

There are just a few problems with my idea, there is not much space between the gas cap and the bumper, and the trunk latch support is in the way. I thought of this idea a while ago, now I remember why I never tried it.

    Modern fuel filler in '68?

I'm in the same boat, at 6'2" its difficult to fill up. Of course I'm 17, so I have a slight advantage. I have thought about cutting out the fuel filler and installing some sort of custom type filler so the gas pump will not fall out. I'm thinking a fold down type door with a modern filler neck...

    T-5 problems

I just got done installing my T-5 into my 67 coupe, now I'm having problems with it going into second gear. It was like this from the very beginning, I have only had the trans in for a few days. Every other gear works fine, but sometimes it wont go into second, the shifter acts like its in 2nd...

    Top End Engine Build 289

Sounds good to me, something that I would like to do to my 67 289. Only thing is you cant stroke it to a 331, a 289 is already maxed out for stroke. The block doesn't have the skirts at the bottom of the cylinder like a 302 block has.

    Hard clutch pedal

'67 coupe 289, king cobra clutch, 96 T-5 (with steel bearing retainer), mustang steve cable clutch conversion. I don't know what the problem is, but my clutch is really hard to actuate. I have the longer 96+ clutch cable and its very easy to move without the clutch. However when I hook up the...

    Cutting Driveshaft

I also thought that if I measure with full droop that when its back on the ground the driveshaft would actually go into the trans, however that's not the case. With the car on the lift (full droop), I measured the distance between the T-5 seal and the pinion yoke and got 53". Then I put the car...

    Blue smoke under hard acceleration

Did you run break in oil? My local machinist recommends the break in oil with zinc for these old engines.

    Cutting Driveshaft

I put it on my lift and had the yoke stick out 1/4", from center to center it was 50 and 3/8". My driveshaft is 51", 5/8" too big.

    Brake and Clutch pedals uneven

I have the clutch adjusted per mustang Steves specs, the cable has a little tension on it. Just to see what would happen I adjusted it to where it was even with the brake pedal, the clutch did not fully disengage. How do I make the brake pedal come up even with the clutch pedal?

    Brake and Clutch pedals uneven

1967 Coupe C4 to T-5 conversion, power drum brakes. When I install the clutch and brake pedal in, they don't line up. The brake pedal is closer to the firewall than the clutch pedal. The clutch pedal is hitting its rubber bumper like it should (?), but the brake pedal isn't. The booster is...

    Cutting Driveshaft

I'm installing a T-5 into my '67 coupe, I got to the point where I have to put in the driveshaft. Its too long :( How do I go about measuring so that I can get it cut?

    Curious wet spot

Does the car have a/c? Could be the evaporator drain tube leaking. Rusted out floor pan? The cowl vent leaks can be sneaky.

swap 289 for 302 in 66 mustang automatic

You could get some long bolts that go from the bellhousing to the engine and use them as line up pins. Its a trick my dad used to replace a flexplate on an engine, so it might help.

King Cobra Clutch and 289 flywheel

Autozone was no luck it had to be a prepaid order, I tried O'Reillys, they didn't have it either. Mustangs unlimited replied I'm going to go ahead and return the flywheel, order the cheaper one, this way I know it will work and on the up side I'm getting a billet steel flywheel :D...

King Cobra Clutch and 289 flywheel

King Cobra Clutch and 289 flywheel

The flywheel description says Not 50-Oz. The stock flywheel is 28.2 Oz and this billet steel flywheel 28.2 Oz, the difference is the bolt pattern is for the newer style of clutch. I believe that it will work, but I would like to see some other peoples opinions. I sent and email to MU asking...

King Cobra Clutch and 289 flywheel

I'm thinking about keeping my clutch and swapping flywheels, but before I do I would like to make sure what I'm doing is right. All I have to do is use this flywheel and this bolt set and the clutch will work?

King Cobra Clutch and 289 flywheel

I recently bought this Flywheel and this clutch I received them yesterday. When I when to mock the pressure plate on the flywheel (not on car, just on table) I could not get the pressure plate bolt holes to line up with the holes in the flywheel. I tried turning it, but it seems like the...

    65 V8 with C4 - Correct RPMs?

I'm not planning on any cam swap. I think that the engine has a performance cam, but I'm not sure. Once I get the T-5 in, then I will think about other stuff. Probably going to be a borgeson conversion because my steering wheel has a good 1/8th play in it and its adjusted as much as it can be...
