    65 V8 with C4 - Correct RPMs?

I figure I'll add in my .02. I have a '67 with a C4 and 2.79s, 1K rpm and 20 mph isn't quite right and 3K@60 is definitely wrong. I'm doing about 2500 rpm@ 60. The only number that seems reasonable is 2K@40 because I'm doing about 1850@40. His tach might be off or maybe mine is off...

    289 Engine noise w/video

It does sound like the valve train, but its difficult to tell. Maybe a pushrod? Did you adjust the valves while the engine was running?

How to remove ford 9" axles?

How?? I have the bearing retainer removed, but the axles wont budge. I tried using the brake drum as a slide hammer, but to no avail :(. Is there something that I'm forgetting? Or maybe a special trick to get them to come off? Thanks, Ranger

    T-5 conversion questions

I'll go ahead and get a speedo cable for a c4 and figure out what gear I need later. As for rear end gears, they are staying because I'm not entirely sure I have 2.79s, I'll find out for sure when I do the swap. Thanks for the king cobra clutch suggestion, I looked on eBay and found this

    T-5 conversion questions

More questions... My speedometer drive cable is worn out, its cracked in a few places an causing a leak. When I do the swap I might as well replace it, but which one do I get? What gear should I buy for it? I have a C4 auto now, swapping to a 94 T-5 with a .68 overdrive with 2.79 rear end...

    T-5 input shaft swap

A guy at a junkyard is giving me a good deal on a T-5 ($400), but its from a 94 Mustang. I have heard that in order to make it work with a '86 bell housing the input shaft and front bearing retainer have to be replaced with one from an earlier T-5. Is this true? I have looked around on the web...

    1979-86 parking brake

Does anyone have any pictures of how the parking brake is installed in a 1979-86 mustang? I would like pictures of it mounted in the car. I'm trying to modify a parking brake to fit in my 1967 Mustang but I'm having a hard time finding out how it mounts. Thanks, Ranger

    borgeson steering done!

However, he is using the stock Bendix pump which cannot provide high enough pressure at low RPMs to give it that nice responsive feel like the Saginaw pump does.

    Hooker headers and cable clutch?

I posted this question on Mustang Steve's FYI FORD forum and got this reply "I have long tube hookers on my 66 with Steve's cable set up. There are 2 cables you can use. I Have the short one which I had to make 2 brackets for so It wouldn't hit the header, But I think Steve has the long cables...

    1967 Mustang Coupe

Ok now that I know its a bad ring, what should I do? Is it possible to buy rings for just that cylinder and put them in without having to replace anything else(besides a head and intake gasket)? I'm thinking all I would need to buy is one set of rings and a head gasket.

    1967 Mustang Coupe

The compression test was a bust... the threaded insert on the rubber hose got stuck in the spark plug hole  Took an hour to get it out. Compression on #1 cylinder was 155 psi. So an hour after getting the thing unstuck, I thought that cant happen again...yep the insert stuck in #2...

    1967 Mustang Coupe

Gene, thanks for the advice. Fstbk-the water pump is the correct one. I just have a radiator that isn't meant for cars with a/c. My timing is advanced 10 degrees from 6 degrees BTDC.I turned down the regulator to 4.5 psi, I did this by installing a fuel pressure gauge inline with the carb and...

    1967 Mustang Coupe

I figure I would start a general thread about my car vs. a bunch of individual threads. I have a 1967 Mustang Coupe with a 289, automatic, power steering, power brakes (drums all around), classic auto air in dash A/C, black interior, and painted "Silver Smoke Grey". The 289 has: bored 30...
