I Bought a Virgin. And Took Pics for Everyone!

Edit: (Didn't realize the pics were so big! Sorry.) It's been 3 years since I last drove my 1991 LX 5.0 Hatchback. This week, I finally took the plunge and replaced her with a new girl. She's younger, sleeker, and likes to take it slow... and she only cost $750! She's my 1993 LX...

    What size bolt???

Ok, so i'm trying to dissassemble a shortblock, and the dampener was already off so i don't have the bolt that held it on. Anyway, I need to turn the crank but I can't. A 9/16 bolt is WAY too small, and 5/8 is too big. So, what size bolt fits in the the crank snout?

    Car wont start

Yeah that could be it...shouldn't take to long to dry though. Since you said you just put in an amp..I would check your battery cables and make sure they're clean and tight, because a bad connection could also be the problem.

    Bellhousing bolt size?

Ok. So i'm trying to mount a used shortblock to an engine stand so that I can begin dissassembly. But for the life of me I can't find what size bolts they are. Even the Ford dealership couldn't tell me. So, does anyone know what size bolts fit into the block where the bellhousing mounts...

AOD won't upshift!! Can anyone help? -->

I had a similar problem about 3 weeks after a rebuild as well. Mine happened to be a faulty replacement part. Some kind of spacer broke and fell and the gears slowly ate each other up. I discovered the problem while I was parked on a hill and when I went to accelerate I rolled backwards like...

    aftermarket oil pan plug???

I have the SD-2 (i'm pretty sure that's the model) plugs from Fram. They screw in and have a valve in them. there's a cap that screws over plug itself. for oil changes, you remove the cap and they come with a little nozzle that screws onto the plug and relases the valve thus draining the...

thoughts on this machine work (copy/pasted from Talk)

I've decided to do this right and build a solid motor first (i'm burning oil) before getting my supercharger. Got a rough quote from a local machine shop today. Wow. They had motors EVERYWHERE. Anyway, give me thoughts on this work/cost. I've recieved good references for them (one a 400hp Chevy...

I just skimmed throught the post so I hope I'm not repeating anything...but there's a drain hole in the little metal dish between the filler neck and the outside body of the car. Need Help Quick!!

Ok...here's the deal. This is help for my friend, not 5.0 related, but general car knowledge should help explain this: We're in the process of upgrading a 1970 Plymouth Duster (with a slant six) to an electronic distributor. For some reason, when in the cylinders, plugs 1 and 6 are not...
