Do I Need To Install A Negative Wedge Kit?

Shelby saw fit to do this mod on the early cars, but I'm not real sure as to how it carries over in the later models. From what I've read, its not AS necessary on the later models, as Ford had corrected some of the geometry problems in the later cars, BUT, from what I've read, it will still...

is this wheel tire combo feasable - not on list

I had to think about this one for a minute too, I admit, but the difference is that Nick is comparing tire clearance whereas you're comparing wheel clearance, which are two different things. Nick is saying take 1/2" off each side of his 4.75 inch backspacing due to the fact we're talking about...

    I've been thinkin.......

Check out the SN65 thread at the top of the Classic Tech section. How about a convertible? J/k, I know that's beyond most everyone's means. The first piece of advice I could offer in this regard is to realize that until you've replaced almost every part, essentially, on the classic, you...

    Question for D.Hearne!

He said everything was fine with him on a thread in which Chepsk8 posted, which may have been in the talk section. I certainly have the same hope for D. Hearne and anyone on this forum who was in a situation of peril due to Katrina.

Best $$ on Edelbrock wheels (Eleanor style)

I don't have a '70, I have a '65, so this question is purely for ****s and giggles. I know that you wanted a 275 on the front. First, are your front fenders rolled? Second, there is a thread on this forum wherein Darkbudha discussed grinding a little edge off of the ball joints to get a wheel...

    roll bar

If you do try to install a cage like you mentioned, do it with an old headliner in place that you dont mind setting on fire....keep a fire extingusher nearby too. I installed my cage without the headliner in, had it been in I would have saw that I would be better if it were higher than it is...

67351Coupe, I really like how your main hoop follows the lines of the quarter window and how your rear struts go back near the window and then down through the package tray. I do see what you're saying about the main hoop being too high, though. I would like a 6 point bar that ran the full...

    13" Corvette brakes on a 66.

That's cool. You certainly can't beat the price, especially if it will outperform the Cobra brakes. What I don't understand, however, is your statement that the horsepower and torque of the 5.0 is "almost as good as a stock LS1!" I assume you're talking about the Corvette LS1 as opposed to...

Very nice 67Coupe351. :nice: Do you have any pics of the rest of the cage with all of the interior installed?

Yeah, the white one Jester posted a picture of followed the lines of the car pretty well. I wish we had more pics.

    13" Corvette brakes on a 66.

Any comments? Yes, your user name is all wrong for the Classic Mustang threads. :nice: :D :rlaugh:  I'll follow that gem with a question: Why use the Corvette brakes instead of the Mustang Steve 13" Cobra rotor brake swap? :nono: Do you perceive a performance advantage, or do you...

    427 Mustangs?

From everything I've ever read, I have to agree with Dodgestang. I've never seen anything about a 427 in a '65 Stang other than the factory "altered" drag specific cars that went out to some of the big-time race teams back then. Insofar as a 427 in a '69 Stang from the factory, I've always...

    Ummm.....tire question

I think it is quite possible as Iskwezm indicated. You will, IMO, have to roll your rear quarters. You definitely need 4.75" or 5" backspacing. As Iskwezm also said, I think 5" backspacing will probably work, but I can't say that with certainty. I rolled my rear fenders, and I'm currently...

    Will 275 60 15 tires fit rear?

Yeah, I guess you're right about that one; it would hit the ball joint. I wasn't even thinking about the fact that 15" wheels were being discussed. I just remembered that some people were running 245's in the front on Dodgestang's site, but those cars were running 17" wheels. I stand corrected.

    Will 275 60 15 tires fit rear?

I also don't think either tire will work with 3.75" backspacing, although I do believe both tires would work on a wheel with 4.75" backspacing.

    1967 289 to 351C swap?

Who said parts are hard to find for a 351C? Rbohm and I just said there are more parts available for a 351W, which is undisputable. :nice:

    1967 289 to 351C swap?

I don't profess to know a lot about this subject, but I know there are several people on this forum that have done this swap. Paste the following links into your browser, which should get you started: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=511258&highlight=351Could...
