Opinion Please -- Contemplating a rear end swap

Thanks for reading. I have an interesting situation. I currently have an 8" rear end and thinking about changing the ratio from a 2.8 to a 3.8 (recently upgraded the motor). Then I ran into a guy..... This guy that is selling a 9" rearend (correct size for my mustang) that is a posi with...

Buyers beware! Don't deal with Coastal50

Sorry man, Debit cards don't provide any more protection than a straight balance transfer. I hope it works out for you in the end!

Buyers beware! Don't deal with Coastal50

Also, you mentioned you paid using PayPal, but did not say whether it was credit card or balance transfer. If you paid using a credit card, call your card and they can help ... most times they credit your account. If you used a balance transfer, unfortunately there isn't much that can be...

How to have sex in the backseat of a 65

Two thoughts -- 1. You must not be married -- that kinda stuff ends with the ring :rlaugh: 2. Doesn't matter -- it ain't happening in my car :nono:

Engine quit, instrument panel stayed on, noise from driver's side fire wall

Thank you for the replies -- and now I'm more concerned, which is a good thing. I wasn't going to worry much about it, but after reading the comments above, that is the wrong way to look at it. Time to do more investigative work. Thanks!

Engine quit, instrument panel stayed on, noise from driver's side fire wall

What the hell is it  I was backing my 66 out of the garage, and the engine stopped. I pulled the key out and the aftermarket tach and instrument panel lights stayed on. There was also a noise that appeared to be coming from the drivers side firewall. The noise happened every 3...

    Perception --

Luckily, it isn't quite as bad as a high rise on an otherwise stock motor. The entire motor is upgraded ... ignition, headers, etc. I appreciate the thoughts! I was just told yesterday ... "Who puts the gas in the car?", that is who you have to worry about.

    Perception --

Thank you for the replies (and please keep them coming). One of the reasons I like the look is because it is different. I don't think I'd have this internal delimna if it was blown (which I'd prefer, but I'm not sure if a 302 is the right application). If its blown, then the looks there...

    Perception --

Okay, here’s the deal. I have a ’66 mustang, and I’m going away from stock. I’ve made mods on the interior and other upgrades. Here’s my question. I bought a high rise, dual quad intake/carb setup with a Mr. Gasket street scoop for the 302. I’ve installed it, and kinda like it. (I haven’t...

Fiberglass Hood -- to pin or not to pin...

Thanks all! I've seen other threads with the best places to get a fiberglass hood -- so I won't ask the question, I'll do some searching. Thanks tim

Fiberglass Hood -- to pin or not to pin...

I've been told by a buddy that if you get a fiberglass hood, you shouldn't use hinges to open and close --- rather you should use 4 pins to keep it closed. Could I have your opinion on this please? Also, if the 4 pins are the way to go, does anyone have pictures of how it looks? Is there...

    Raped by an ebayer

Max -- you did say fees ... which is why I disagreed with you We do agree that it is the buyer's responsibility to find out what the shipping charges are before they bid.

    Raped by an ebayer

I disagree -- It is not the responsibility of the buyer to pay the seller's Ebay listing costs or PayPal costs --- that is "part of doing business". Shipping costs should be shipping (including insurance/tracking) + packaging costs, and that is it. No handling (although this could be...

Cool 2-point seatbelts for my '66

Anyone have any suggestions on places to look for cool looking (maybe even exotic) 2-point seatbelts? I'm not interested in going with a 3, 4 or 5 point belt -- and I want something better looking than the stock 2-pointers. Any suggestions? Thanks

Too Wide Rear End - what does it mean?

Yep, sorry, I've been reading about flange to flange, then you can add approx. 5" to get measurement x.... Anyway, I confused myself -- and it isn't hard to do at times :) I also better get a better measurement about the new rear-end. I've visited kevinstang.com to read up about the...

Too Wide Rear End - what does it mean?

I've searched this site, and now know that my 66 mustang needs a rearend that is 57 1/4 wide (flange to flange). I have an opportunity to get a rearend that is 58 1/2 at a great price (free:). So, my question is, what does it mean to have the 5/8" too wide on each side? Is it a look thing, is...

I did something stupid -- snapped off the dipstick tube

Thanks guys - It snapped flush -- so I can't get vice grips or needle-nose plyers on it. I tried the tap -- but the farther in I went, the more pressue it put between the tube and the hole -- so I couldn't get it extracted. The fire thing would be cool -- but my in-experience would...

I did something stupid -- snapped off the dipstick tube

On my 66, 302, I was working on getting the water pump out. I took off the alternator, set it aside and accidently snapped off the dipstick tube. Of course, it snapped off flush so I can't get anything around the tube. I tried to tap it, but that didn't work. So, short of dropping the oil...
