    Crank/Pistons Lock up.. Help- Im building

    Make sure you didnt get your rod caps mixed up and put them on different rods. This will make a difference in most cases. Also, the deeper groove on the side of the rod goes against the crank counter weight....for better oil control.

    Stangs pissin me off........I took off valve covers and found 6 bent push rods all on intake valves.........is this cam timing not right?.......or try hardened push rods for these springs.....but none were bent on exhaust valve.

    For some reason i think its in the valve train. Cams installed str8 up. Valve springs are Comp installed:132 lbs @1.750- Open: 280 lbs @1.250- Spring rate:296 lbs/in stock pushrods and lifter. 1.7 RR's. does this all work together on the stock POS's.

    Nevermind......got the sarter to work...just hooked it up to the bell housing. Another problem though. Engine turns great but wont start, check engine light is on. What little things can i check?

    Remember...Tight Engine

    Took the engine back out. Took it back apart completely. Gapped rings slightly more. Took each rod and fitted them on the journal, torqued em. One rod just would move on the journal when torqued.     Engine builders....help

    Im thinking the pistons are too tight also. They need a little more clearance. Every thing torqued down to specs. Crank spins great by itself, so rods or Piston to wall clearance. In what case could it be rings? Thanks guys

    Stock starter could not turn my 347 with 9.5:1 compression. I took out the engine and am inspecting clearances. I think the rods are too compact on the journals. I cant get a .009 feeler guage between them. I believe thats tight. Is it possible to make clearance, or do i need new ones...
