    where to get sheet metal hole plugs?

    any well stocked hardware store should carry them... i found the ones for the doors (1 1/4" iirc) at the local sears hardware.

    Is it ok to use 3M Urethane sealer to touch up windsheild leaks

    IF i knew i would never have to replace the glass, i would use urethane, but as it is a gasketed application, i would say use the butyl. it can be softened with mineral spirits, if it needs to be removed. but urethane, once cured, is forever.

    Driveshaft Question

    standard type is good... you cant weld on a rubber filled drive shaft. when you say extended, i assume you mean a new tube with the existing yokes, right? thats the cheapest route, and any good drive shaft shop can handle it.

    my rear fender lips are rolled, (they were when i got the car) in the front, however, the lips were removed, all except about 1/16". and a piece if 1/8" round stock stitched in. seal the welds with duraglas, and youre done. btw, i vote roll them now.

    huh? why would they be the same length? . i did this the same way i do a brake job... lay everything out as it come out of the car. also, i had the new diff ready to swap in as soon as the old one came out.

    ahother way to varify 180 out is to take your rotor to the parts store, and match it up with a mopar points rotor (i cant recall if it is for a small block, big block, or raised big block mopar)... thay will look the same, except the key that locks onto the shaft is 180 out. drop the mopar rotor...

    some people drill the hole to let trapped air past the t-stat, and into the radiator. if you do this, the hole should be at the 12 o'clock position...

    Gear oil

    i like synthetic, if for no other reason it doesnt stink like petroleum based. amsoil is my choice, but royal purple is another good synth.... either way, 85-90 weight, 1 1/2 - 2 quarts.

    ok, heres the deal... im swapping a 9" 28 spline, 4 pinion t-lock for the open diff in a 66. the rearend came from a 59 galaxie. the passengers side axle slid right in, no problem so far, right? move around to the drivers side, slide the shaft in place, hits solid about 3/4of an inch short...

    for a 4 post, park your DD underneath lift, backyard buddy is the way to go... well made, lots of options available, such as a hydraulic jack to allow the tire changes, etc...

    Hiding that Solenoid

    yoou still need the ignition solenoid with the mini starters... the old solenoid is as much for the ignition as for the starter. most guys hide the solenoid behind the shock tower, and lengthen the wiring.
