    my 89 lx is all stock motor wise and ive blew up my t5 twice. i think it all depends on ur driving and a lil luck.

    wow you should def be getting more out of that suspension setup...i run 2.3 sec 60 fts with stock upper and lowers , street tires (radial ta's), kyb shocks, stock motor w 186k 94 mph trap speed . you should be much better...i would say play with the pressures somthing is very off there. goodluck

    The car just sat outside for a few hours after the ride home from work and i just got back from a ride. Problem is totally gone. I guess they just needed to soak in the friction modified diff fluid. thanks for the replys guys and hopefully this will help somone else

    the spiders were all in very good shape for 186k miles. i guess im gonna have to rip the clutch packs out again if the prob dont go away.

    yes i did add the friction modifier (addictive) to the fluid so i dont think its that. any other ideas?

    I just put in my 3.73s today (i work at a ford dealership with alot of mustang guys) and i put in all new bearings and new clutches. Got it all back together and it doesnt whine or hum or anything and feels great going straight, but when i go around corners , there is a horrible ratcheting...

    I want to go carburated with my 351 setup for economical reasons as some of u may know. My question is this...besides the visual inspection...is there any way to tune a carburated car with a sizeable cam to pass the sniffer test? ie "leaning" it up? even if i have to keep the air pump to go...

    wow jrichker thanks alot for all the info...i should def be able to figure these codes out now. I hadnt tried cleaning my throttle body...so i took a peek and found it to be filthy so i used a whole can of cleaner and got it spotless...it seems to idle perfect now so im just gonna figure out...

    My car idles really crappy all of a sudden. Very very rich (black smoke from the tailpipes...enough to make small clouds) choppy like a huge cam and it surges up and down...(sounds kinda cool actually but i know its not good) I have a check engine light that comes on as i drive on and off...

    Def do it urself...really easy...like was said if u can take it out u can rebuild it. Grinding in 2nd usually means the syncro teeth on the actual second gear are ground up and the 2nd gear will need replacement(about $90 i think)

    this only started happening since i put the t5 in the second time with a used countershaft and 2nd and 3rdgear. i am leaning toward somthing in the clutch assembly i think. it is a 50 oz flywheel too btw
