    it would stay on for a couple of minutes. With that fan you will never have any overheating problems.

    if the Mark VIII is too thick, then go with the Taurus 3.8. They push almost the same CFM's.

    The Taurus fan is about 3" inches thick so you should have an inch of clearance. I drilled two holes on one side of the shroud and used fan straps.

    maybe is not the intake, do you have a BBK throttle body, because usually they make a whisteling noise.
