Just got an s trim blower from my 91 and was reading up on the install and was wondering how to run it without the fmu and btm. Do i need to get a new fuel pump? Also as far as the ugly air box goes do i have to use it, ive seen many superchargers with the filter out in the open? With the bypass valve, since im not using a fmu do i just cap the connection for that or do i not need that all together? Also the kid i got it from was using a 76mm maf with 42lb injectors, i was going to recalibrate my 80 for the 42s and use that which would be safer. And is it safe to drive around for a little without a computer tune or should i park it unti dyno time comes? Cant wait to get this on but dont wanna rush it so let me know. thanks

Your crazy if your not running a btm. The btm retards timing with more boost so you can have more timing in the car. Also you dont need a fmu i dont run one with mine. My filter is in the fenderwell with an AFM powepipe. The bypass valve im not to sure about i have mine running back into the powerpipe or else the car wont run and it stalls when its under vac. As for the tune you will prob need one. I was lucky with my car and didn't i put it on the dyno after everything was installed and my air fuel was right on. HOWEVER hot starts you have to push the gas pedal to the boards with 42lb injectors if you dont get a tune and have them change it in the computer. Look at my set up below and youll see what i have and what HP i am making.

so i need a btm and a fuel pump. what size pump do you guys think i need? snoboardcore since your not running the fmu you have the bypass capped where its suppose to run to the fmu?

your confused on the bypass valve...it has nothing to do with the fmu. the fmu is for adding fuel pressure as boost builds. the bypass valve is for venting the boost the sc is making when you let off the gas so that you dont blow your tb out

i dont run an fmu but i do run the bypass valve because i run about 11psi of boost. for fuel i have 42# injectors, a 255lph pump in the tank, the t-rex inline pump and the mr. freeze methanol injection kit.

you dont need the btm if 1) you never boost, which makes your sc worthless or 2) you run a base timing of 6* and run no more then 6psi of boost which makes $h*t for power.
you can run the car without a dyno tune but you can never go high enough into the rpms to make boost. the dyno tune along with a custom chip will program the timing and afr so that you can drive the car however you want. or you can get a pms or a tweecer and try to tune it yourself but i dont recomend it because you sound inexperienced (no offense). tune it wrong with the pms or tweecer and you ruin your motor

if you dont want to dyno tune right away then go ahead and use the fmu just incase you get a little trigger happy and floor it before its tuned. absolutely run the btm if your not going to have it dyno tuned right away. the fmu and btm are designed to let you run a sc on a car that is not dyno tuned. a dyno tune will result in more power but the fmu and btm route is do-able.

Like some of the guys mentioned before, if you are not planning on tuning the car anytime soon, keep the FMU or BTM, set your timing at 10" and take it easy. I will recommend to go with 42lbs injector and recalibrate your 80mm MAF and for your fuel pump get a 255lph in tank along with an in line pump.
