    Carburetor Conversion

Easy. Just need a 12v power source that is controlled by the ignition. the negative is grounded to the body of the carb. Adjust the choke by turning the casing of the choke left or right until it barely closes (while cold). All there is to it.

    Who has Bullitt replica wheels?

Yup, I have a set on my '65 fastback. Back fit great, had to go to a 3/4" spacer to clear the upper and lower ball joints on the front (disc brake conversion, R&P steering). That was after I put a nice scrape on the inside lip of my new rims. My guess is you would need the spacer in...

    Engine problems

I blew a power valve in a Holley a couple years back and it did something similar. It would run Ok for awhile, then the carb would fill with gas, backfire then dead as doornail unitil the gas evaporated.

Master cylinder bench bleed - Necessary?

Bench Bleed Thanks Dodgestang. My bleeder works the opposite way, I pressurize a cannister and force fluid through the system, no vacuum. Should have learned by now there are no shortcuts unless you want to do it over! Bench bleed it is. Mike

Master cylinder bench bleed - Necessary?

Getting ready to swap out the fruit jar on my '65. The master cylinder instructions say to bench bleed the M/C before installation. Is this really necessary if I have a power bleeder? Might take some extra brake fluid, but after 40+ years a little extra flush won't hurt. TIA. Mike

$700 dollars what would you do?

I'd still vote disc brakes. All the power in the world will wreck the car if you can't stop

    Threaded insert for head?

Yes, there is an insert Had to buy two of them last summer to fit my GT-40 aluminum heads. Ford sells them for $35 each. Summit carries a knock off for $4 each, part number TFS-51400265. Power steering pump bolted right on.

RE: i think its time to rebuild the motor!!

Got an 89 5.0 roller core for 150, added a 331 stroker kit for 900. GT40 aluminum heads and a Lazer cam. Not the optimum setup, but fit my budget. Am extremely pleased with the results. Once I reach 500 miles I plan on hitting the dyno and posting the results. BTW - did the entire buildup...

    65 Fastback front end rise

Yes, pre-loaded the UCA's before I put them in. Heard some won't load properly if they aren't greased before installation. Really laid the grease to all joints several times. It really looks like a Bumpsteer issue. I have Granada spindles and wide (17") tires. Seems to be the combination...

    65 Fastback front end rise

Doesn't make any sounds. I can't push it down on the asphalt, has to be on the smooth concrete then you can hear the tires squeal as the toe goes back in place. I have to back it up if I am on the road, only way to get the rise back down again.

    65 Fastback front end rise

It has all new strut rod bushings. It is definitely bump steer, I've got 3" difference in toe just by flexing the suspension. I've got 17" tires to go with the Granada spindles that really aggravate the problem. Checked the tie rods, they are a good half inch above the lower control arm. I've...

    65 Fastback front end rise

Hey Dodgestang, Just read "Our Story", exact description of what is happening. My Granada exchange has been one problem after another. IF I go back to '65 spindles and restore the geometry will bumpsteer go away? Is this a problem with all Mustangs and wide tires? Thanks, MikeR

    65 Fastback front end rise

65 Front end rise It was up in the air, they pre-packed the upper A arms then replaced springs/suspension. I am looking hard at my stock shocks, got them at Autozone and am wondering if they are bottoming out and sticking. Don't think it is the rack, had the problem before I put it in and...

    65 Fastback front end rise

Hey guys, Just did a ton of mods (listed below). When I nail the accelerator the front end rises and won't settle back down. Total rise is about 4 inches. Really throws the toe out and the car is all over the place. I have to get out and bounce on the front bumper a few times to get it...

    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

Unisteer and Tri-Y's Had a long discussion with the sales guy about this. The connection on the Unisteer unit is right next to the oil pan. You could possibly make this work with adding some extra joints but I did not want to take a chance on it. The TCP rack's mounting point is right next...

    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

Unisteer Saw the Unisteer guys at the Hot Rod Nationals in Louisville this year. Wanted to get the setup but the sales guy said it would not work with my Tri-Y headers. Had to spend 2x Unisteer's asking price for the TCP manual rack. Really like it though, the car is really fun to drive...

    AN0THER PR0BLEM...please help!!!

65 motor mounts I had the same problem. There are two ways to fix this. The '65 mounts have two bolts that point straight down through a slot in the mounts. Remove the bottom bolt raise the engine and add washers until the fan doesn't hit. The 2nd way it to buy a set of '66 motor mounts, it...
