    Power Steering Bracket Adaptor

I am using my 302 timing cover and accessories on my new 351W. Does anyone know the dimensions and hole/tap sizes of the flat bar spacer for mounting the power steering bracket so I can make one? Here is a picture...

What I meant was to say was that I already have the adaptor bracket so I can use my original alternator bracket. It's the one you are referring to which has two holes for mounting to the 351W head and a built in spacer/threaded hole that the top alternator bolt mounts to.

Thanks. I already have an alternator spacer. I got it from a fellow club member. He went to a serpentine system and will let me use any of the parts he has. I will just have to get a power steering pump bracket spacer.

D.Hearne, I think I will be better off by using the timing cover off of my 302, use it's balancer, pulleys, and flexplate. That way I can use my 302 water pump and pulleys. Does that sound like the best approach? Where in south LA do you live? I moved to Lumberton 2 years ago (actually...

I thought the 351W and the 302 used a different balancing weight. If all I need to do is put the 302 balancer and flexplate on my 351W, then I am dang near set. I then can use my 302 pulleys. By going to a passenger side outlet on my water pump from the original driver side outlet change the...

I have run into several problems trying to install a 1979 351W in a 1969 Mustang that had a 302. 1) The 351W flywheel is the 164 tooth and the 302 flywheel is a 157 tooth. Obviously, the 1979 351W flywheel is a larger diameter. I think I will need to get a flywheel that is a 50 oz. balance...

    Exhaust Tips

Thanks for the advice. I hadn't seen it done and thought I should at least ask the question. I think I will stick with turn-downs.

    Exhaust Tips

Has anyone installed exhaust tips from a mid-90's 5.0 Mustang on their classic Mustang? If so, please post some pictures. I like that look and am considering putting them on my car and want to see how it looks first. My car is a '69 Fastback. Thanks for any input.

    Sputters and dies when hot!

No, I never had the codes pulled. I went to Advance Auto Parts and the guy hooked up the hand-held reader to the computer under the dash, but it gave a "Linking Error". I talked to a friend who is an ASE Certified Ford mechanic and he said the correct location to hook up the reader is under...

    Sputters and dies when hot!

I'm guessing my problem (see original post) is either the O2 sensors, clogged catalytic converters, or fuel pump (making a more noticable whine than usual). It sputtered and died again today after driving for a while. Actually, it did it as soon as I started the car after it sat all day. I let...

    Sputters and dies when hot!

Someone said that I need to replace the TFI module on the distributor. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Just looking for verification. Thanks.

    Sputters and dies when hot!

I talked to a guy who is a Ford mechanic and he said it might be a head gasket. But he said that it would sputter all the time if that was the problem. I was thinking it might be the O2 sensors. I haven't pulled any codes. What is a "pip in the dizzy"?

    Sputters and dies when hot!

My '94 GT is giving me problems. It runs fine when it is cold. When I drive in stop-and-go traffic it will start sputtering as if there is bad gas in the tank and then it dies. It also does the same thing when the engine is hot and I have to stop somewhere and then start it again and go...

    Setting Timing

I'm trying to set the timing on my 302 but I can't see any timing marks. I have cleaned the harmonic balancer as good as I can. What do I do?

    Build sheet

Where would I be able to find the build sheet for my car? Does Ford or anyone keep these records? My Vin is 9R02F134489 on my 1969 Mustang Fastback.
