    I tried using the starter out of my 87. I was told all I had to do was use the correct bellhousing. Guess Ill have to get a new starter as well.

    Is it true that 1992 and up 5.0 stangs use a different starter? I put a 94-95 tranny in my 87 and the starter wont fit. A shop around me said that in 92 they started using a different starter.

    Nah I just never connected them after I removed all my smog stuff because I thought they had to do with emissions. The wires hit against the exhaust so I cant just reconnect them else I would. Plus I have ran race fuel also and from what im told that ruins them also.

    Well I know I had a problem just like that and I had to clean the MAF element and it started right up after that. It could be a vac leak also but I would deffinately seem to think its the MAF first though.

    ok, im pretty sure the tuning was just basically just timing and fuel pressure because I didnt have a chip burned. So I think that it was basically tuned as is.

    no its a manual. The starter just seems to bottom out before its all the way in.

    so what do I ask for at the store a 94 5.0 starter? Also what guage wire should I run? Everyone makes it seem like its a direct swap.

    Hey I just bolted in a tranny out of a 94-95 stang and everything worked fine except I cant get the starter to fit in right. All I ever heard was just to make sure I use the bellhousing that comes with the newer tranny. Do I need a different starter or is it just me not doing something right?

    So what symptoms do you think I should be seeing due to not running the o2 sensors? I feel like I dont have all the torque I should have could this be part of it? Also with the car running I can see the exhaust like its cold out even though its not.

    Well I reset the idle and everything seems to be ok now. I just cant get rid of this stupid hanging idle. Also, even though my car is non emissions cam and heads do you think I still need the o2 sensors?

    Im going to buy an aluminum flywheel but I dont know which one I should get. Just get the regular aluminum one or the billet version? Whats the difference?

    yea but I drove it for a couple of miles and still nothing. It would idle at about 750-850 like usual but it was a real weak idle like it was going to die. All the lights were dim and what not. I turned up the idle just before so im going to see if that helps at all tomorrow when I start it up...

    I just have an elbow coming off of the throttlebody and the maf on the end of that. The air filter is connected to the meter as one unit.

    Do you guys think that this is better or worse. I have a 80mm maf shorty and I connected it to an elbow right off of my tb. Is there any problem with the meter being so close to the tb?
