    I assume you replaced your head gaskets when you re-installed your heads. Did you completely flush your cooling system afterward? If not, you may have solved your problem and don't know it. Make sure your system is flushed clean then recheck..

    I did a compression check and a leakdown test and it still did not tell me that I had an improperly installed head gasket on my 351M motor. It wasn't until I took the heads off that I found an upside down gasket.

    I would suspect a bad head gasket or one that is upside down, letting exhaust blow into the cooling system. If you take the cap off the radiator and smell exhaust thats a good indicator.

    Less coolant and more water will cause corrosion. It is best to run atleast 50% coolant and water. Like SuperDave said, I would flush and flush again until you see clear water coming out and then put the proper mix of coolant in.. Good luck...

    You would have to measure from the top of the frame rail to the center of the pump shaft, if not tire size and car height would affect the results. Maybe place a yardstick across the top of the frame rails and measure up from there?

    Its on right side up..I just looked in my Mustangs Unlimited catalog. They list a short style and a tall style motor mount. My guess it the guy that installed the 351w in my car used the short style. That would lower the motor and make the fan hit the bottom of the shroud.. I think!

    The fan hits the bottom of the shoud. It needs to be raised up about 3/4".
