    i dont have a codereader, but thanks for all the suggestions. im gonna look for spark soon as i get a chance, i wonder what is sucking the power out of the battery? anyways, it looks like i have along road ahead of me.

    the battery is fairly new(a yr), and if im gonna order the tool to pry off the tfi i might as well just order a new tfi. the fuel pump does prime, i really have no idea whats going on with the car. but im not giving up on it!

    selling isn't really an option right now, and the winters here aren't bad at all, this isn't my daily driver, this car having a heater core is useless to me. do i rip it out or bypass it? how much does it weigh (is it worth the hassle to drop some lbs.?) thanks for all the replies.
