    The above is correct, but it is best to use one that has a small LED light built into the switch so at a glance, you will see that you have the OD locked out.

    Should not affect gas mileage in town, and may actually improve it some if only in town driving. It will pull away from a stop with less strain, and shift up to a higher gear sooner. My gas mileage in town did not go up even with 4.30 gears, but my MPG sure went to crap with the little highway...

    modifying AOD

    I would guess the shifter shaft and rooster cone that has the notches for the shift detents to match up are 1 tooth off on the inside of the trans. There is a 21 Mm nut holding it. To correct, you would drop the pan, loosen the 21Mm nut and move the rooster cone one notch, then retighten the nut.

    There is your noise problem, if you are using the cheaper kits. I have QA1 on mine, and have never heard a sound from them. The body is threade for the adjuster and spring seat, no sleaves to move.
