Hey, i mentioned my earlier that my AOD has some internal damage. We think that the spline shaft or something, that connects to the gear selector lever is twisted, so the whole angle of the lever is moved. My dad cut the shift cable bracket and it worked, all the gears work well but the cable pulls at the lever at such an angle that it cant get into Low 1. its like pulling it back when the lever needs to go at a 45 deg angle.

The AOD is fine except for this problem. But i dont want to mod this tranny if its like this. Would you suggest to just swap to 5 speed or buy another AOD.
I know a guy who has a 75k mile AOD with a transgo shift kit and he will throw in a TCI 3000 converter. I can get it for like 300 buck. BUT i dont know if our shift cable would work. since the bracket is cut about a inch shorter.

would an anti ballooning plate affect anything on a N/A car, his car had nitrous and he had the anti ballooning plate so ?????

I would guess the shifter shaft and rooster cone that has the notches for the shift detents to match up are 1 tooth off on the inside of the trans. There is a 21 Mm nut holding it. To correct, you would drop the pan, loosen the 21Mm nut and move the rooster cone one notch, then retighten the nut.
