    351W 400hp??

Very good article in the Fall Engine Masters for anyone looking to put together a 351. It should be on the local stand. A shop builds a stock stroke 351 with basically out-of-the-box AFR 205s, a solid flat tappet cam, and the performer rpm manifold, and it makes 536hp at 6,500 rpm on 91...

Victor Jr. Intake under GT 350 hood 66 Mustang?

Are you trying to run a 9k rpm 289? The Performer RPM made much better overall power on the new 351 I am doing for my mach 1, I would think the Victor would be way too much manifold for a 289. Just my 2 cents

Painless Harness in 70 Mustang with 3G alternator?

Is there a place to buy just the OEM engine bay wiring harness? The Painless seems like kind of a pain (haha) with regards to having to replace the entire cabin and trunk harness to make it all work.

    351W 400hp??

400 is a piece of cake with aftermarket heads... Be wary of the new AFR 185cc closed chambered heads. I tried to order some and month after month it was "we are about to start making them." I ended up going with a bare set of Victor Jrs for my 351, by time I got the valves and everything...

Painless Harness in 70 Mustang with 3G alternator?

I found this guide I guess that information will be largely the same for modifying the Painless harness? It looks like the major difference is on the Painless harness the B+ terminal goes to the interior of the car to the fuse block, then comes back out to go to the starter solenoid...

Painless Harness in 70 Mustang with 3G alternator?

Hello again, My Mach 1 was in a fire, and I previously posted that I was going to try to make a serpentine system work with my 351. I got a complete junkyard 5.0 setup, and a four-eye water pump, and all I had to do was frabricate a small bracket to stretch from the water pump holes to the...

Steering Jerk on the freeway - Rack maybe?

The front tires are only 2 weeks old (same as stock 225/60R15s), it did it with both the old and new tires... Will try to pry on the bushings tonight on the rack and see how much flex I get

Steering Jerk on the freeway - Rack maybe?

No the problem was not there before the alignment, but it wasn't there right after the alignment either...which has me stumped How do you diagnose a bad rack? It is hunting though as you said wythors

Steering Jerk on the freeway - Rack maybe?

 My 90 5.0 is my daily driver and I put a lot of miles on it. In the last month or so it has developed a strange steering jerk on the freeway. I don't know how else to describe it. I got the car aligned, and if I take my hands off the wheel it drives straight but will kind of...

Timing Cover Identification / Junk-yard Serpentine Questions

    D. Hearne, thanks for the info... Shortly after posting I actually went to the local pick a part because I had some time and it happened to be 1/2 off day. I pulled an entire serpentine setup minus the water pump and smug pump off a 5.0 Mark 7. So I have the brackets and all the pulleys. Is...

Timing Cover Identification / Junk-yard Serpentine Questions

I have been doing my best to search the forums here as far as using a modern serpentine setup in an older mustang. My 70 mach 1 was in a fire, and half the original pulleys will no longer rotate. I thought today I would go down to ecology and take an entire serpentine setup off a 5.0, replace...

Headers for 351W in 70 mustang

Sorry guys, I think my problem arose out of my searching for a 351W in a 70, when I should have just looked at 69. Looks like to get something with 1 3/4" primaries I have to spend about 700 bucks. The Victor Jr. headers are raised port, but hopefully that doesn't change it too much... Yes...

Headers for 351W in 70 mustang

Swap questions for 351W in 70 mustang Sorry guys! Lots of questions.... I am storing the original cleveland out of my car and I have a 351W with the edelbrock victor jr heads. 1. Right now I don't have any exhaust manifolds. I am trying to look around, but it doesn't look like anyone...

how much power can these bodies handle before you have major problems?

Before the Challenger I have now I had a red 428 fast back in the early 90s. It wasn't as nice of a car as my Mach 1 is, but it was nice. I had the 428 set up with a big, nasty solid cam, headers, big carb etc. It was a 4-spd car with 4.10s if memory serves. I ran it quite a few passes down...

    2:73 = Bad Gas Mileage???

Hahahah the engine pulls the car most easily at its torque peak. If you gear the car to where the engine stays at its peak at cruise... it is going to get the best mileage. Also, as someone mentioned... The lower the rear gear ratio (to a certain point), the better mileage the vehicle will...

    Strut removal problem...help!

I have a Snap-On impact gun. Its air, not electric obviously. Its an older gun but its supposed to put out somewhere in the range of 700lbs of torque. These were the original nearly 18-year-old struts on my car. I was pretty amazed that the gun wouldnt take off the nut when the car was on the...

    Strut removal problem...help!

I am replacing all the springs/struts on my fox body. Did the rears real quick, moved on to the front. Here is where I am stuck. I just can not get the nut off the top of the strut. I tried putting a huge flathead in from the side into the notch and holding it while I turned it...no luck...

THE 331 WENT ON THE DYNO TODAY!!! *VIDZ**

He posted it on the forums a while back, do a search. Yes we are talking corrected horsepower, JBA is a big name shop. The run was with a belt. I always get crap about it when I talk about his numbers. Arent you making only 20 lbs less with your own tweecer tune, stock exhaust, maf and tb?
