Well...its official: "Ford Shelby GT for the Masses"

Also Romeo the Shelby GT has some other stuff going on for it. I remember recently reading on another board that Amy Boylan (President of Shelby Automobiles, Inc.) frequents that all these FRPP modifications, as well as other here-and-there modifcations, will be covered under a Ford...

Well...its official: "Ford Shelby GT for the Masses"

I intend to order my Mustang Romeo - whichever model I decide to go with. If shelby, I should say Ford, doesn't decide to price gouge I could really see myself buying Shelby GT. I think that $32k-34k is a reasonable price given the modifications of the Shelby GT, and of course who is putting the...

    Installation of Stripes

After look at an '06 in black I'm about |---| close to just say to heck with strips, and just go black. The only reason I was entertaining getting white was because it would have blue stripes - and I quickly realized I was merely white to compliment the blue stripes when it should be the other...

Romeo - still working on my 4 year degree. There's alot of dealerships throughout central PA that are "doable" for getting a few $k below MSRP, just have to know what you are talking about and be commanding - but polite. Just remember, they aren't going to let you walk out when they can get a...

New FMS / Borla Stingers installed

Going to dip into my limited mech vocab. When you mean the Flowmasters are baffled, I remember reading that they are chambered. Are baffled and chambered different muffler options, or are they in entirely different fields? If I'm wrong, can you explain what you mean by flow through type...

Well...its official: "Ford Shelby GT for the Masses"

Romeo, I hail from State College, PA as well. Was just at a lot in the area today - among the stangs was a new 07 grabber orange coupe (yeah I know bad color). 18 inch polished aluminum wheels, shaker 1000, the $460 interior upgrade package, GT appearance package, automatic tranny, the $600...

    Installation of Stripes

I agree, waiting until you have all exterior upgrades installed and then striping it seems more logical. Only problem is I want a white exterior with blue stripes, driving around in performance white with no stripes isn't exactly my bag =/.

New FMS / Borla Stingers installed

I'm really considering the FRPP stingers or Flowmasters for my Mustang when I purchase. If the stingers are as good of quality as you say they are, I'd rather purcahse them through Ford and have them already installed when I pickup my Stang. I'll be using stock headers/midpipes FYI.

Well...its official: "Ford Shelby GT for the Masses"

From what I gather, it's a GT with certain FRPP modifcations, exterior upgrades (hood scoop, brake scoops), and some here-and-there shelby modifications. I don't think all those upgrades would top $5,000 on the MSRP of a Mustang GT. However, I recall reading that production of the Shelby GT will...

    Installation of Stripes

The stripes in question will be painted on, and after searching past forum threads cost quite alot $1500-$3000 for a quality job (wow really that much?). Now I am definitly having the California Dreamhood installed, either at purhcase or later down the road - and possible future addons (rear...

New FMS / Borla Stingers installed

The aforementioned borla muffler is the FRPP exhaust kit, also known as Stingers? (the interchanging of these three words has confused me long enough). And you say you ran the borla mufflers on stock headers and midpipes? My mech vocab is increasing, day by day :D

    2007 Mustang GT gears

05MGT that is a PERFECT defintion - understand it completely. I agree with you, I'm about 1/4 mile speed - so I'll definitly make sure to get the 3:55:1 slip ratio, optimally I'd like to get 4:10. I'm sure I can dig up how much they cost or how much MPG i'll lose somewhere in these forums (but...

    2007 Mustang GT gears

Evening everyone. After searching the forums and not finding *exactly* what I was looking for, decided to post the question. I'm pretty sure the standard gears on the 2007 Mustang GT is 3:55:1, with a $100 optional 3:55 slip ratio - what exactly does that mean? Is the higher the ratio the...

Mod up to the competition and bigger brother?

Thanks svt. While I'm not concerned about my GT being in the same arena as the GT500, I am a tad bit worried about it hanging with the Camaro and Challenger. I'm not into racing at all, and any performance upgrades would be limited - however I do like to know that the power is underneath the...

Mod up to the competition and bigger brother?

I think it's my generation (22 years old), and lack of mechanical knowledge that gives me a rule that the higher HP car wins - bur I'm not stupid enough to believe that statement entirely. Could you please elaborate on specific upgrades svttech for the s197 that would make it "a hell of a lot...

    Yet another exhaust combo down.....

Anyone tried or have sound clips of stock H, stock pipes, and Flowmaster's 2005 Mustang GT after-axle muffler kit? Listened to some sound clips of it from the company's site and they sound and look pretty good, however it's the company's sound clips so of course they will sound good :D . If...

Mod up to the competition and bigger brother?

This has been a question on my mind for some time now. I've always been quick to bash people who buy rice burners, or other inexpensive imports, and sink thousands of dollars into them making them a better car - both mechanically and aesthetically. Example - Buy a $10,000 car, sink $15,000 into...

    Mustang color experts

Thanks for the reply anthony, I'm going to assume that after you treat the exterior with quality products (was going to buy one of the zaino kits after researching the topic on stangnet forums) that you can improve the appearance of the exterior with regular application? Since your son is...

    Mustang color experts

I don't know if anyone else had a tough time deciding on the color of their Mustang, but I am (which I think is the case for most). When I think of Mustang, I think of blue and white. I quickly dismissed white exterior with blue stripes, doesn't quite suit my taste. I would like to go with a...

    First-timer, Upgrade advice.

I decided as far as upgrades go, I'm going to stick with Ford Racing Performance parts for in the beginning until I get a feel for my car, as well as educating myself more on car mechanics. As far as the '07 Boss Mustangs, it depends on the price. If it's MSRP aoa $30k, I will consider it...
