    94-95 spindles vs newer ones???

    not much difference..... the 96-98 are exactly the same except for having a wider track (8mm if i remember right) and 99+ are the same as 96-98 only they are shaped a little different to fit the pbr calipers.

    Cobra brakes on 94 GT

    I have pretty much everything to swap over but just had a few questions.... First do the gt lines fit the cobra calipers? and second will the ABS be affected at all by using the larger calipers?

    pinion preload?

    You have to take off the wheels and brakes....then you just use a torque wrench with a gauge on it. If i remember right the specs are like 30 in/lbs with new bearings and 15-20 with old bearings.

    Little window on a 'vert

    How do you get at the motor and track for the back window in a convertable? I put mine down one day and now it just kinda makes noise and wont come back up. I figured i have to pull off that interior panel but there doesnt seem to be any way to get it off. Anybody have any tips to fix that...

    Get the diff, ring and pinion out of an aerostar. Its 7 1/2'' rear with trac-loc and 4.10 gears.

    5.0 LX... what to look for when buying?

    Where the lower control arms connect to on the body.....Also look for creasing in the sheet metal right behind the quarter windows. Thats another way to tell if its been really beat on.

    I dont know how long ago that was but i've seen quite a few gtx's go for under $1000 lately. I actually pieced together a turbo kit for my 96 escort gt for like $400.

    It would be alot easier to swap in the mazda 1.8 gtx engine and you can get quite a bit of power out of them.

    Can i use underdrives from a fox on a sn95 5.0? I would think you could but all the sets i see only list to 93.

    Yeah 90-93 use 55mm mafs 94-95 use 70mm. Im not sure about 96+ but i think they use a 70mm one also.

    Nope.....the pedal assembly from fox bodies has like a cage over the top that wouldnt fit into a 94+.

    use 94-95 stuff it keeps all the same alignment and allows some really cheap big brakes.

    took me about 2 hours to swap rear ends by myself. It isnt too bad of a job as long as you have some power tools.

    Probably a dumb question but i can get one for free so i thought i'd ask.....can you use a 5spd from a v-6 with the 2.3? If you can would it be worth it to do so?

    Its funny....I knew what you meant with the filter change but I read it as change the entire a4ld every 50-60k miles. Which probably isnt a bad idea :rlaugh:
