i am trying to replace my pinion seal and was wondering how exactly you check the pinion nut preload?? do you brace the wheels so the rest of the diff doesnt move and measure that....thanx
You have to take off the wheels and brakes....then you just use a torque wrench with a gauge on it. If i remember right the specs are like 30 in/lbs with new bearings and 15-20 with old bearings.
