    14.618 @ 3192 ft (DA)

What RPM were you launching at to get that 13.8? Did you lower the tire pressure at all?

    14.618 @ 3192 ft (DA)

No sir the 14.6 is what the timeslip says. I don't know what the corrected time is.

I'm all stock, unless you count a K&N filter. :D

    14.618 @ 3192 ft (DA)

I did have trouble getting into 2nd and spun badly off the line on my first runs and resulted in a more embarrassing 15.3 second timeslips. The 14.6 is with clean shifts and with some traction issues. I couldn't launch higher than 2500 because I'd break loose. I think I'd better work on my...

    14.618 @ 3192 ft (DA)

What's the formula for this conversion? I'm not doubting you or anything I'd just like to know for future reference.

    14.618 @ 3192 ft (DA)

As much as I'd like to think that's my corrected time, the DA in the thread title is already "DA corrected." The elevation was at 1002 feet in 88 degree weather, and according to the calculator that's just over 3000 ft corrected. Or am I missing something? I'm the guy that just ran 2.3 60ft...

    14.618 @ 3192 ft (DA)

So that was my best time out of the 10 runs I did on my first visit to the track today. Does this look normal? My timeslip is in the car but the 60 ft was a 2.3x and I trapped at 97.xx mph. There was a LS2 GTO that ran a 14.51, a 07 Roush 427 R did low 14s, and a GT500 ran a 13.9. I guess the...

Major clutch chatter when accelerating from standstill

The Friday Night test & tune is coming up at my local track soon, and it'll be my first time at the track. And I wanted to practice my launches on dead roads/parking lots so I can focus on other things when I'm actually there. I got some strong, 3000rpm launches in with no wheelspin. I was...

Tips for running at the track?

If you're looking to improve power through exhaust mods, spend the money on headers or a midpipe. The mufflers are mainly for sound. As for throttle bodies, look here: BBK Twin 62mm Throttle Body (05-10 GT) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Tips for running at the track?

Yeah leave it in 3rd if you have stock gears.

ok I'm posting here because this is my new home

Supposedly it depends on what they'll be used for. For drag racing, they're of acceptable reliability. But for road racing it's no good.

Get a V6 now or wait?

Those are some very valid points. From what I hear from the V6 owners, their insurance premiums and gas mileage isn't far off from what I'm (GT owner) paying for those. So the only benefit to the V6 is the initial cost, which can be compensated if you wait.

Tips for running at the track?

Don't feel bad. Once you get that 60ft time down, your 1/4 mile time will come down with it, as long as you aren't missing any shifts. Track prep and weather conditions have a lot to do with this as well. How were the other cars running? When you see Corvettes and Cobras running 14s, somethin's...

    3650 Tranny Problem

For what its worth, on my old 4.6L 2v engine, the sound was known to be normal fuel injector noise. I don't think it's a tranny issue, but what do I know.

    What gas is everyone using?

On the Bullitts (05-09) and GT500s, that's true without a doubt. But until someone posts quantitative proof of it being true on GTs, I'll call BS.

Tips for running at the track?

Definitely turn off the traction control and try to launch it at 2500-3000 rpm. Depending on how well/badly the track is prepped, you will have to adjust your launch rpm accordingly. Make sure you're slipping the clutch, because "if your tires are spinnin, you ain't winnin." You don't wanna...

    Is 5w30 ok?

Is anyone using a oil temperature gauge? I'd like to see how hot it gets with synthetics vs. dino.

Would you want 315HP or 365HP?

Yeah I think you're having trouble understanding the fact that there's no replacement for displacement more than I'm having trouble performing. BTW, its PERform not PREfrom. :nice: Let's install twin turbos on the V8 and see.
