Thoughts on 245/45/18 tires for 1.5 inch lower Mustang

I recently lowered my car about 1.5 inches with Eibach-Pro kit. I think 245/45/18 tires will easily fit in front based on some sigs in this forum. I've seen 245/45/17 tires in front on 2 inch dropped Mustangs. I want tires that are 1 inch taller than stock for the following reasons: 1) It...

How critical are shocks and struts

02FastblackGT, Do your wheels rub? I lowered my car with the Eibach-pro kit. I'm currently trying to decide on wheel selection. My rear axle is off 1/2 inch more towards the passenger side. I was going to get two tires and rims 275 40 17, 17x9 for the front to see if they rub. Then...

    Trouble replacing steering rack bushing

I'm done!!! I had to remove the pinch bolt. After I installed the bushings I had trouble replacing the pinch bolt. After playing with it a while I realized that the wheels moved a little. I moved the wheels back and was able to slip the intermediate shaft on. Now I can get an alignment...

    Trouble replacing steering rack bushing

Thanks BCBOOGT. He didn't encounter my problem. I'm unable to pull the drivers side out far enough to get the rear bushing out. I'm afraid to force it. In the shop manual for replaceing the rack, says to remove a pinch bolt off the steering column. Then disconnect the steering column...

    Eibach Pro-kit question

Jinx102672, I just checked my rear axle placement with a plumb bob. It sits 1/2 inches toward the right. I believe this would account for the car wanting to sit lower on the drivers side. When I played with the isolators, I could see an indentation in them where the spring use to sit. I...

    Eibach Pro-kit question

After a week or so My car is now 1.2" lower in front and 1" lower in back with full gas tank. Interestingly a full tank will lower the rear 1/2". The problem with the rear not being same hight was the isolators. I re-used them. One side was in original spot on lower isolator. While the other...

    Front end Questions

I went in for a wheel alignment today and the mechanic found the following problems on my 65,000 mile GT: 1) Left Inner tie-rod end had excessive play. 2) Rack & pinion mounting bushings were worn. Questions: 1) How much play is acceptable for the inner tie-rod ends? There has to be some...

    Eibach Pro-kit question

The drivers side is lower. The fronts I'm not concerned with because I did not clean the lower a-arms enough. The dirt was too hard. I'm wetting them hopping that it breaks up the hard dirt. I can re-do them again later if I need to. The rears are exactly right. Before I began the...

    Eibach Pro-kit question

I finished all 4 springs yesterday(Sunday). The fronts settled to about 27.5 inches from 28.5 inches before I began. That's 1 inch over night. The rears went from 28.5 inches before I started to about 28 inches in 24 hours. I'm not worried yet. Thanks everyone
