    i lopped off the top then cut the shaft so it sits 3/4 inch below the cut, then i ground a taper onto a shaft slightly bigger than the bushing and pounded it in, i believe i use the shaft from a long 1/2 bolt.

    thermactor air holes. thats where air from the air pump gets injected in smog applications. you can use a 5/8 or 1/2 set screw(cant remember which) to plug the inlet holes and make that the rear of the head.
