Progress Thread Grab A Trak Mid Eye Leafs Not Even

Hi Horse, I'll try that but I'm not sure it's gonna work. Reason is I did not tighten the front spring bolts or shackles until it was down on the ground again. The saddles have a nipple in them that prevents forward or backward slide so I'm not sure if loosening the u-bolts will have any...

Fox 1987 5.0 Ho Main Cap Torque

Thanks gents, I'm thinking 60-70ft/lbs is the one. If I'm on it hard and something comes loose on the bottom end I guess I'll know different. I appreciate you chiming in. Chris

Fox 1987 5.0 Ho Main Cap Torque

Can anyone tell me what he proper torque is for the main caps on a 5.0 HO? Almost all of what I can find seems to say 60-70 ft/lbs however I have a rebuild book called "How to Rebuild the Small-Block Ford (George Reid SA102)" On page 106 it says the main caps are torqued to 60-70 ft/lbs On...

Progress Thread Grab A Trak Mid Eye Leafs Not Even

Anyone had this issue before? I have installed a set of GAT mid-eye leaf springs on the FB. The drivers side of the car sits a full 1" lower than the pass side. I asked GAT about it and they said to switch sides as sometimes that cures it. I'm not sure how that would do it but if they say to try...

Progress Thread Cylinder Wall Marks - Too Bad Or Not

For anyone interested. I have a neighbor up the street who is very experienced with engines. He's a Mopar guy that has raced blown alcohol dragsters and continues to build engines. He came down for a look and said if he was building an engine that had to be 100% perfect he would look at having...

Progress Thread Dynacorn Door Shell To Front Fender Fit...yikes!

Ok, so as luck has it I happen to have a top notch body guy on my street. Works for a very well known high end shop. So he's walking his dogs one days and see's the Pony out in the driveway and sees me with slumping shoulders. Stops in to have a look and says the fender can be reworked to match...

Progress Thread Dynacorn Door Shell To Front Fender Fit...yikes!

I may try a little gentle persuasion on the fender's inner structure to push it outward. I checked the arch on the Dynacorn door and the factory door and there is definitely more arch on the Dyna door. Maybe a combination of the two.

Still going to try the shimming fix later but here's a shot of the trailing edge of the LH (drivers) fender shown on the left beside the RH (passenger side) fender shown on the right. Looks very close.

It does doesn't it. Hmmm. When the rain stops I'll compare pass side fender to drivers side and see if there's a difference. Thanks for doing that Horse.

Progress Thread Dynacorn Door Shell To Front Fender Fit...yikes!

Thanks Horse. I'm trying to line up a new fender and will let you know. May remove the pass side door which is a factory door and compare side by side with the Dynacorn. Raining here today so I have to wait until I can get it outside as my garage is too tight for door removal on both sides...

Progress Thread Dynacorn Door Shell To Front Fender Fit...yikes!

I haven't done any adjustments at all to the hinges at this point. Just hung the door and had a moment when I looked at that seam. Something is off here. The dimensions Horse gave me are pretty close but the old fender seemed to fit very well which is the same fender going back on. Horse do...

Progress Thread Dynacorn Door Shell To Front Fender Fit...yikes!

Thanks Horse....I checked those dimensions on the Dynacorn shell. I have about 2 1/8" on the high spot but the center of the c-scoop measures pretty much the 1 3/8" you mentioned. I had my wife help me by trying to physically align the leading edge of the door with the trailing edge of the...

Progress Thread Dynacorn Door Shell To Front Fender Fit...yikes!

I don't think it's the fender. here's a pic of the car before I started stripping it. Same front fender mated to a factory door (door was not original to car and had a ton of rot along the bottom thus the swap). I paid more money for what I was thinking would be a better product. Hoping CJ Pony...

Progress Thread Dynacorn Door Shell To Front Fender Fit...yikes!

I took the fender off and looked. No damage at all. Pass side door is a factory door and doesn't seem to have as much curve. The Dynacorn door shell structure appears all good though so unless the door shell curve that the skin follows is out of whack??? I'm perplexed.

Progress Thread Dynacorn Door Shell To Front Fender Fit...yikes!

Ok so I'm all excited to get my new Dynacorn door lined up so I installed the factory front fender and......E-GADS to my surprise the plane between the fender and the door is way off. Anyone ever seen this? I have a factory door on the pass side so I made a template and compared and I think...
