1988 Mustang GT proud new owner

Well, I put 6K into my "budget 331" LOL and that was using a nice set of ported GT-40 heads and a used cobra intake on ebay. I also got a used explorer 65 MM TB on craigslist. I went with a new on everything else. I got a forged 331 short block from ebay that worked out well for me and only...

1988 Mustang GT proud new owner

Welcome to the '88 GT club :nice: Remember if you go 331, you are switching to a 28 oz external balance, so you'll have to change out the balancer and flywheel as well. Having said that it was worth it for me, it's a great motor. Good luck :D

    Dyno tune worth it?

I'm wondering if it will be worth it to pay $450 for a dyno tune. I have the following combo: - 331, 11:1 compression - GT-40 heads, lots of port work done. Back-cut valves - Cobra intake, lower ported by tmoss - 65mm explorer TB - TFS-1 cam - 1.6 Roller Rockers - 30# injectors - 75mm...

    Swirling Paint

If you are interested in learning the art of paint correction, I recommend you sign up over at Meguiar's Online and start reading up. Lots and lots of good info there. I happen to be a paint correction specialist and I run a paint correction/detailing business. Here's a few black cars we've...

How can I remove water spots from my sunroof??

Water spots come in 2 types: Type 1 water spots are above the surface and consist of the minerals left behind after water evaporates. Type 2 water spots are actually etched into the paint or glass and are below the surface. If it is a type 1 water spot, you can use a clay kit, and/or a...

    Yellowing Ford headlights

I run a detailing business and deal with this all of the time. It's actually very easy to correct. Meguiar's sells a headlight restoration kit you can use with a drill that works pretty good. You can even correct it by hand with some effort. If you want more info on different techniques, let...

    351W EFI question

If I recall correctly, the Mass Flo efi system is very similar to the EEC-IV EFI in the 89-93 fox mustangs. Since it uses a Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor it responds well to engine modifications and is pretty easy to install. Looks close to stock too, but since it uses port injection you have...

Need advice of 86 GT Front Bumper Cover

+1, these guys are the best I've ever dealt with. I once mentioned in an email to their sales rep that I wasn't happy with a part (wasn't really a big deal to me) and they called me offering to take the part back.

    What headers - GT40 heads?

I run GT-40s in my '88 fox and use the Summit coated shortie headers. Fit is great and finish has stayed perfect for 2 years now. Absolutely no problems with plugwires. I am in the process of swapping a GT-40 topend into my '68 and plan on using the same Summit headers. I know you are...

    Ebay CAI?

Are you looking at the CAI that terminates inside the engine bay or the one that goes out the fenderwell? It would be a step backward to get one of those with the filter in the engine bay. I recommend you get the CAI that pulls air from the fenderwell like the stock one.

    Ebay CAI?

I got the ebay $30 piece and it looks and fits fine. The filter is el-cheapo but you can replace that easily enough. No change in power but it sounds better and definitely looks better

    MegaSquirt and EDIS-8

How did you mount the EDIS wheel? Did you keep a distributor installed to turn the oil pump or did you use a cam synchronizer? Got any pics? How was your tuning experience? Sorry for all of the questions :D
