Change in exhaust note when putting headers...

Well I have heard most of the positives when putting on headers. I would like to go with Flowtech's long tubes. This is mostly to help the exhaust ported E7's help get the gases out with the single profile cam, but will it change my exhuast note? Right now I have dual flowmaster 2 chamber 40's...

    Flowmasters

Same here, I dont think they are loud. Then again everyone who drives with me says they are. I also noticed that with the windows up, you can hardly hear them. But since I have no AC, I have to drive with them down.

    mustang vs camaro

Okay, "Camarada" is the word comrade in spanish which means friend. "Camaron" is the word for shrimp in spanish. Take the N off and you have Camaro. Oh and Mustang means means Mustang both in English and Spanish. Wild horse, :flag:

Just need to know, if milled heads require special gaskets. I am getting a pair of completely worked E7's. They are going to be milled, 3 angle valve job, ported, and will have new everything.

    Food for Thought

I am going to be 20 in December, My '73 has been my DD since I was 18, i started working on it when I was 16. It is my first car. Reason I got it was cause my dad abandoned it. I made it run decently for 2 years until it was time for rebuild. What I would do was see what needed to be fixed and...

Thinking about moving to Austin area

Come to San Antonio. Not cold, but it does get kinda hot. Not too much traffic. Not far form the gulf coast sandy beaches either. great city to live in. good nightlife, lower cost of living, not alot of taxes. The $250,000+ home you would get in jersey will cost you less than 100 here. Oh as far...

    Where to start?

I agree with this. The 8,500 for the car mentioned in the prevoise post sounds like a kick ass deal. Especially for a car already in the 11's. Anyway how fast is your friends Camaro? What kind of times is he running?

    steel bradied brake lines....

I never thought there would be so much discussion on brake lines. Thanks for the infor on the durability though. I remeber when i first got the car., it took alot of pedal force but that was because of bad brakes. Then I got them fixed and they worked normal. however like i posted before after a...

    heads with smaller combustion chambers....

A guy from a local machine shop offered me a pair of E7 heads. He said he would mill them to get whatever compression I wanted up to 10 to 1, 3 angle valve job, new seats and some porting and assembly for $250. I think this is a good deal, anyone else agree? He has 10 pairs that are taking up...

Need Help - Lifters Collapsing on 302

What may be happening is that it is bottoming out due to the springs. Were the springs matched to the cam? I am not going to say this is the problem but something to consider.

    steel bradied brake lines....

I was wondering how much better do these really feel. I had noticed that at first the car pedal feel is really good when I first start the car but as I would drive the pedal would get soft. Jegs has a kit for the front brakes and I was wondering if anyone swapped rubber to braided and felt much...

    heads with smaller combustion chambers....

Well my mechanic said we need to replace one head, so I figure why not replace them both. I would like to get some late model heads but still keep my compression or gain some. Are there any heads that have 58cc or smaller combustion chambers? Thanx in advance

    Help with increasing compression ratio.

Usually with these more agressive cams, they feed off the higher compression. If the maufacturer recommends that Compression it would be wise to follow the advice. If the compression isnt enough for the cam then the engine will not perform as well. I think it would be best to have the advised...
