    SON OF A BISCUIT!!!

You could dismount the tires and then set the rims on the dollies and roll it out.

new cobra 31 spline diff - do I soak clutches?

Again, thanks for the replies. I called the Ford Racing tech line, and they said it was not necessary to soak the clutches, nor was it necessary to soak the entire assembly prior to install. I'm setting it up tomorrow, so hopefully all is well.

new cobra 31 spline diff - do I soak clutches?

Thanks for the reply, but it doesn't answer my question. I'm wondering if it's necessary to go through all this since Ford has packaged the thing already assembled. The only "special instruction" listed on their website is to use friction modifier.

new cobra 31 spline diff - do I soak clutches?

I have my rear end gutted and ready for assembly. I bought the Ford Racing 31 spline diff and US Alloy 31 spline axles. Do I need to disassemble the carrier and soak the clutches? The carrier is obviously already assembled and I'd like to not have to mess with the S-spring if I don't have to...

    Best way to adjust rockers??

If you overtighten them, you'll lose vacuum b/c the valves are never closing. Put a vac gauge on it while your making the adjustments if you are worried about going too far. I had better luck adjusting mine with the car running. I took an old valve cover and cut the top off it. I used that...

difference between OEM and FRPP clutch cable?

I, too, have been down this road. I originally started out with a Ford Racing cable, Ford Racing quadrant, and a BBK adjuster. The Ford Racing quadrant was a nicely machined piece, but the geometry was poor. I had rubbing issues and no adjustment left with my cable (cable was too short). I...

Is this a open diff or limited slip? (pics)

Thanks for the replies. I called the guy on it (luckily he's local). He apologized and we're supposed to meet up Friday to trade for one he has that is LSD. I feel stupid b/c I always do my research before buying, but this came up on Craigslist and I thought it was too good to pass up...

Is this a open diff or limited slip? (pics)

Help. I feel like an idiot. I purchased 31 spline hardened axles and this diff - which I was told was a limited slip diff out of an explorer. Once I got it home and looked at all the pieces I found no S spring and no clutches. This is my first time doing rear end work, so I apologize for...

What Ive been up to.......(warning, 50 pictures)

Don't put any more mud into the bay until you get all the holes you want welded up. I suspect the heat from welding will pop a lot of that mud loose. Also, don't forget to grind the back sides smooth prior to mudding. I had some mud pop just by grinding on the opposite side. It's a piss off...

    Basement Renovation

hey - looks great. funny this thread comes back up, because my basement waterproofing is finishing up this week and i'll be starting on mine this weekend (1040 sq ft, totally bare right now). i don't even have steps going down there, so i have to cut some in and shorten one of our spare...

    1/4 MPH vs. Air Temp

The ONLY thing on the car that changed from last year is rear suspension and some drag radials. The tune, plugs, wires, timing, fuel pressure are all the same. I should note this car is only driven 3-4k miles a year, so I see no need for a tune-up at this point. I could go back and check fuel...

    1/4 MPH vs. Air Temp

First off, I don't make it to the track very often. It's been once a year for the past three years. Last year, after my engine was built and dynoed (see sig), I was trapping 106.5 MPH in the spring (65F outside). My 60' times were horrid b/c I had a stock suspension. I was also breaking...

My NEW progress thread. stangnet style ;)

SVT just keeps bringing the good advice. I'll try to add some more... First, it's funny he mentions the razor blade trick, b/c that's what's I learned with. It helps to slightly bend the blade, so the corners are a little farther from the good paint then they would be if it was flat...

My NEW progress thread. stangnet style ;)

I agree - paintless dent repair is the way to go. If they can't get the one out of the door, I suggest starting with SVT32's suggestions. Also, you said there is not much clear on it. How much is not much? Two coats? More? You can do a lot of wet sanding with two good coats of clear...

No luck trying to find a "fun car" for the Wife

I had an 89 SC and I used to live on SCCOA.com - now I'm hooked on Stangnet! The SC's are nice cars. Unfortunately, they have a few problems that when they go, they are going to cost you either a lot of time or money to repair. The Mustang is a much more enjoyable car to work on!

    Trickflow head issues

You can drill those out yourself. Since the dowel pins are the locating points for the heads, the through holes for the bolts/studs are not as critical.
