    Harmonic Vibration

Driveshaft and tail shaft appear solid. I hit 70 with the vibration and push in the clutch the vibration goes away after the RPM's come down. I'm thinking crank or pilot bearing.

If you have the hydraulic lifter setup the take it easy. Break in at 2000 RPM or better for half an hour. If you went solid then nail it!!!

Changed everything when I replaced the cam this last time. I do not have push rod guides. Early 289 4bbl head with non-rail rockers. I asked the last machine shop to measure everything and they said nothing was wrong on the head so the cam and valve train were replaced. I am beginning to...

    #2 Intake valve problems

I have had the head worked on by two different machine shops in the past year. After a few months I bent the # 2 intake valve. I replaced the cam and lifters, moved the rockers and pushrods around (Don't hassle me on that) but I still get a bent valve stem on the #2 intake. I need ideas. Thanks

    easy question for cam experts

This is where I get confused. My A block cam (stock) has the small base circle but matches the lift of this cam. (Very little duration on the stock cam) I put a 234 duration 512 lift cam in the car and it ran great until I got on the road. I was in second gear doing 30 mph,on a six lane...

I have the four speed with 300's and turn 2700 at 70 mph. Fourth is 1 to 1. I checked the ratio based on my stock setup and the 2700 number is correct with 14 inch tires. However the 2.92 first gear makes it go!!!!

Water temp. How hot is too hot?

Remember the boiling point is 212 degrees (water). One pound of pressure is good for 3 more degrees. So if you have a 15 pound pressure cap then your boiling point becomes 257 degrees. Pure rubber melts at 350 degrees. However your hoses are not pure rubber. There are additves in that hose...

How to have sex in the backseat of a 65

Wait a second!!! That will get the blanket dirty. In my 69 XR7 vert, you put the top down and put the tonneau cover on. Placed the blanket over the cover and the trunk. Then you could stand up in the back seat!!!!!!!! (Well, it was good until the Sheriff showed me his spotlight!) So...
