Help, broken bolt stuck in engine block

It's a miracle...the bolt is out...and I still can't believe how I did it. I just sprayed it down w/ some pb blaster in the hopes of loosening it, and it sure must've loosened it. I had maybe literally 1 mm hanging out of the block as was able to use my bare fingers to turn it out a few more...

Help, broken bolt stuck in engine block

It's actually the Mounting Equalizer Bar (engine side), threads go into the engine block and that part of the thing snapped in half while I was in traffic the other day. Needless to say, it was pretty hard to get the car in gear. So I'm going to buy the new part today but I just have 1...

    Has anyone tried these seats?

Those are some nice seats, especially for the price, I wanna get some w/ the Pony logo on them now.

    new heads

"wonder if the performer rpm heads are little more than a stock replacement" :rlaugh: I put some on mine over the summer and that baby screams, night and day difference!

    BackFire

I had a real problem with fire coming out of my carb. When there was even a slight load on the engine it would just keep shooting out. I ended up adjusting/readjusting the timing, changed plugs, wires, distributor, distributor cap, rotor, and even ended up getting a new carb. Problem still...

    Runnin' Hot!!!!

My 289 bored 60 over runs between 180-195 when it's nearly 100 degrees outside in stop and go traffic. I have over 300 hp so it should run even hotter than if the car was stock, don't know if yours is or not. Anyway, I have a 4 core radiator (66), 3 core should be fine for 67 b/c...

    Professional Products Intakes

I don't know how much cheaper the intake made in China is over the Edelbrock, but I think we should all remember, You Get What You Pay For.

    Float Adjustment for Edelbrock Carb

When I take sharp turns too quickly or if I brake too fast the car will cut off. :( I used to have a Holley and the float adjustment was pretty simple, I remember I had to have the float set a certain spot where I can rock the car back and forth and fuel would seap out of one of the screw...

    Borg Warner T-10 Tranny

My T-10 slipped outta gear about 3 times, thats in 2 years, so not too bad. I can't wait to do a 5spd swap, but I'm sure the T-10 can handle 320ish HP no problem, I hope anyway.

The one thing you would have done different.

As much as I love my 66 GT coupe I'd get a Fastback. I see too many coupes around and barely any Fastbacks, always nice to have something barely anyone else does. Aside from that, they're about the baddest looking car out there, especially w/ a cowl induction or bump hood, really nice lines...

    wanted: aluminum pedals

SacMustang has them. Competition aluminum pedal covers. I've been wanting to get some for awhile now, $50 bucks for a set w/ or w/o manual tranny. www.sacmustang.com You'll find 'em on there somewhere.

    Borg Warner T-10 Tranny

Anyone know how much horsepower at the flywheel a T-10 Borg Warner manual 4 spd tranny can take? I heard the old 4 speed top loaders can handle a lot of power, but I have a Borg Warner, so I'm just curious...

    Mystery Wires = backup lights?

My 66 GT coupe doesn't even have reverse lights, or a place to put them. Needless to say I'm very careful when I back up.

So close to firing it up

I finally got all my new parts installed (Performer RPM heads, Hooker LT's, Comp Cams cam, Magnum Roller rockers). Just got a new 4 core radiator too b/c my old one sprung a bad leak and was deemed un-fixable. Anyway, went to pressure test the radiator to see if I had any other coolant leaks...

    Dumb Question

Here goes a formula for you. CID = NUMBER OF CYLINDERS x SWEPT VOLUME Which makes CID = N x 0.7854 x bore x bore x stroke (all in inches) You would have 8 cylinders x 0.7854 x 4.030 (4 inch bore stock plus another 0.030) x 4.030 (have to multiply it twice) x 2.87 (stroke) So, 8 x...

    Which roller rockers from where?

I bought some Comp Cams Magnum roller rockers for $150 at summitracing, not a bad price especially since they're listed at around $220 on the Comp Cams website.

    Colors... So many options...

If you REALLY want it to stand out (any fastback in that shape already does) I'd go Candy Apple Red w/ White Stripes. Something more low-key yet still very attractive would be Wimbledon white w/ guardsman blue stripes. With that said I voted for Red w/ White stripes. Simply Breathtaking!

    Breaking in New Set-Up

Hypothetically, if I don't repaint the headers do you think they'd last at least 3-5 years? I got the non-ceramic coated ones right now due to budget constraints and also to test 'em out, if I like 'em I'll most likely invest in the ceramic coated ones in the future and get some 2 1/2...
