Where to Buy a Motor Similar to the GT-40 Crate

What they are trying to tell you is that the money is in the parts like the heads and cam that really don't wear out much. A low compression test means the cheap wear items like rings and bearings are starting to wear a little. The engine needs some re machine work, and cheap parts like rings...

    Pressure bleeder question

It doesn't really matter. 15 psi is the max, but go as high as you like until it leaks between the fitting and the cap. Not something to get too meticulous about. Kurt

RANT!!! Is this guy crazy for his asking price?

Is it worth it, absolutely not. It's an absurd price. Are people paying it....yes. Kurt

    Significant Vibration After Clutch Replacement

Yup!!! On my 117th clutch install, which happens to be my current twin disk I missed it. Thankfully I caught it before I put the bellhousing on. Kurt

Fox Life of a whiny T5 (Solved)

Most T5s whine because they aren't shimmed correctly. You need to check the run out on the input shaft with a feeler gauge in accordance with the manual, and adjust the shims behind the front bearing retainer accordingly. The tension between the input shaft and the output shaft can cause all...

    Fox B303 GT40p Power Estimate

As someone who has had a Trick Flow "stage 3 cam" and built an engine with camel hump heads, I am self critical. To add to your story, I am part of a group for a particular hot hatchback. Unfortunately they let guys in from the last generation of that hatch which was basically an economy car...

    Belt tensioner

Depends on how strong your hand is. I can do it with "my strong hand." Kurt

    Fox B303 GT40p Power Estimate

I'm just afraid that if we all don't get with the times, we are going to be those guys with the "double camel humps, and the 3/4 race cam." Kurt

    Belt tensioner

I know this sounds condescending, but make sure the belt is routed correctly. Kurt

    Post your aftermarket shift knobs

I'm still a fan of the B&M shifters because it comes back farther with the double bend than the single bend. Mustangs are kind of known for having the shifter too far forward. Kurt

Motorsport Clutch Fork and Clutch Cable Kit M-7553-A302 --- Not As Advertised

Be careful with this stuff. Half the time it comes back as not deliverable or something. Walmart is actively getting as many part numbers on their website because it affects google algorithms in a way that my small brain can't understand. Not saying that this is the case for this particular...

Thinking about deleting the power steering in my 89

No, but she was the fastest cross country runner in the history of the University. So there definitely wasn't a lack of muscle mass. Kurt

Thinking about deleting the power steering in my 89

Most of the manual steering rack cars are drag cars with really narrow front tires that are easy to turn. With normal tires it is a little tough to turn at slow speeds. In all honesty, I had a girlfriend back in the day that weighed 89lbs, and she daily drove a 69' Camaro with manual brakes...

    Post your aftermarket shift knobs

That's what makes it the best balance. When you are truly throttle on shifting a car fast, you need it to be a little bit rubbery. A hard shift knob just busts up your hand. It's also a good look for your street car. Kurt

    95 5.0 fan

That was a resistor that was installed as part of a recall 2 dozen years ago. The factory fans were catching fire if the bearing seized in the fan. So Ford's solution was to install.......this thing. Not many people participated in the recall. Fan fires are not very common. I would go out...

Suspension BMR Premium K-member and Moroso 20511 oil pan 7 quart

Just about any deep oil pan like the Moroso one will fit with a tubular. Be aware that a deep oil pan will sit lower than the K-member making it the road debris fuse. I've had to hammer several dents out of my Moroso 7qt. Kurt.
